yeah it was awesome, but nothing that indicated that he killed the borg for good. with the nature of them the only way to get rid of them for good is to wipe out each and every single drone. Even one functioning drone can rebuild the entire population
Wouldn't one Borg just be an individual? I think when you get to a low population of Borg their priorities switch to survival mode, at some point trying to assimilate would be too costly with the few drones they have. (Resistance is... possible.) In the books, they joined with a rouge faction of Dominion and Romulans after what Janeway did to them. I assume in return for their services, they got the prisoners of war.
Then they would have been lying to us all this time about the purity of their process and motives. A collective is a group consciousness existing on the same encrypted wavelength of subspaceradio. The flesh left behind after the fact is almost irrelevant. The group sets the the group goals together. That's why Reilly's group in Unity was able to sit it out and get along in their pocket collective. They wrote their own manifesto and stuck to it. What Seven did in Survival instinct was reprehensible, and punishment for strong arming the valid opinions of weak minded initiates was most probably Janeway.
All us Trek fans. A vague concept, but one you could expand upon unto ultimate power. Could you resist this?

From what we've seen, there are limits to how much one drone can convert a humanoid into a Borg. The more sophisticated implants must be installed manually. Without a connection to the larger collective, the conversion process would be incomplete, and the drones would work at only the lowest levels.
Are you talking about how slowly the crew on Enterprise was partially assimilated because the nanoprobes from Two Borg were spread out between nearly a dozen drones, a ship and a few members of Archer's crew fighting off the infection over the course of hours with 22nd century medical technology?
I didn't like the nerfed Borg in the episode but the tie-in episodes were my favorite in Enterprise.
I wonder why Voyager never made any use of the Iconian storyline. They could have made an episode arc where they are in a region with lots of Iconian ruins and remnants, and eventually fight about one of those portals.
But they (TPTB) would have fucked it up and VOY would have just gone back to EARTH. When they could have gone back to something at least remotely sci fi interesting, like some Borg civil war we never heard of or the Talaxian Bronze Age. But no, it would have been all hoop skirts and other such nonsense in Janeway's Indiana of yore.
