I thought Sleepy Hollow was a silly idea for a series. Look how that turned out.

Yes, quite true. I've seen some of the episodes, and they are quite good. Another series I jeered at before I saw it was Vikings, now I'm a huge fan of that.

The CW's Supernatural spin-off now has a new title, a female lead and a description of the premise. From Deadline:

The "planted" spinoff? Is that a spellcheck fail for "planned," or is it some new bit of industry jargon? Because I think this is the second time I've seen it.

A bunch of different outlets used the "planted spin-off" terminology. Either they all copied the same typo in a CW press release or it's terminology for a backdoor pilot planted as an episode in the main series.

A planted spinoff has its seeds planted in the main show but does not spinoff the characters. Probably gets fuzzy sometimes I imagine but like Stargate Universe vs Angel.

I'm glad they renamed the show. Tribes was an out of place and silly name for the franchise. Sharing the name with a popular FPS franchise didn't help matters any either.

Yeah the new title definitely fits better. Tribes makes it almost sound like a period piece IMO.

Have there been any confirmations as to the identities of the other three monster families? From what I can tell only the werewolves and shapeshifters have been confirmed. One of the families has got to be vampires. What do you guys think the other two could be?
