Valerie needs a new jacket. Picked up some stuff this evening. Here I thought we were finally done with costuming and props.
Unless I mess up on the new one, yeah. I don't think that leather thing would be very comfortable on location in mid-June anyway.
This hasn't got to do with Polaris directly - it's a publicity still of Paul R. Sieber - our lead as "Sam Fredericks" - from another film, Bite The Hand, that's shooting locally: Bite The Hand Official FB Page Paul's an amazing guy, and I can't tell you how lucky we are to have him in Polaris. Our cast is, to an individual, the best collection of actors I've seen in a movie at this level.
There are tons of logistical concerns with film shoots. Every time I do one I learn something new to add to my knowledge base. Currently we're discussing how we'll do the final location shoot and if/how much camera movement we'll want, and how a moving camera affects editorial. I think filmmaking is one of those things that, if you had any idea how complicated it was before you jumped in, you'd think thrice before you got involved!
Am busy working on the initial rough assembly of the footage for the show, and, amidst the tedium of syncing second-sound to picture for hundreds of takes, I saved out a couple of frames just to post here. On the Command Deck of the starship Polaris. Captain Fredericks and crew react to an audio message from their Transhuman nemesis Andros Gaitanis.
A couple more... Mess with Lt. Howard and she might "blow your effin' head off". Mr. Azra pilots the Polaris into adventure and out of danger.
