I would have no problem with them hooking up except she has no secret identity as of yet. That means Wonder Woman will hook up with Superman but poor Clark still spends his nights alone. Now if they are smart this will run through WW, Action, Superman and WW for as long as it lasts. Yeah I am a continuity guy.

No that ruins what Azzarello is doing in WW.

People need to get over the continuity fetish, it's not healthy.

I can't find it now but there is a great letter in one of the 1960s issues of Superman which goes something like:

    Dear Editor,

How come the Atlantis that Lori Lemaris comes from is different from the Atlantis that Aquaman is from? How do you explain that?

    Yours,

    Bobby Shafto

Editor response: No idea Bobby, I don't read Aquaman.

I'm just curious to see how the relationship will be handled and how it will be portrayed throughout the 52'Verse. I really don't have much problem with it. I'm even curious. They've flirted around this before a couple of times, even when Clark and Lois were married. I much prefer Bruce and Diana but that ship has long since sailed.

    Yes.
    And yes.

If I could build a wall around Azzarello's WW so DC editorial doesn't fuck it up, I would.

And here I am about to fall into continuity stuff....

Today: Caught up on All-Star Western (haven't read them yet) and Justice League Dark, and also bought Batman Inc.

The latter is terrific, quirky as ever, and Morrison continues to seed little details from Snyder's run - the in or out continuity of this title is still not quite established. The beauty of the long-form plotting still suffers a little from the copycat "Court of Owls" business, but I suspect we get a Leviathan versus Owls plot at some point after both Morrison and Snyder are gone. Would this be a good idea? No. Will DC be able to resist telling some story of how all-powerful Leviathan's spreading into every aspect of Gotham came into conflict with the other all-powerful supersecret organization controlling every aspect of Gotham? Also, alas, no. It would be better to simply let readers decide for themselves which they preferred, and not worry too much about it.

Justice League Dark. Why do I never say this title is my favorite of the new 52? Since Lemire took over it has been terrific. This issue trots out characters you expected to see only to pull the rug out immediately afterwards, and gives us a reimagined scene from Morrison's Seven Soldiers (essentially, Constantine was in a scene that he wasnt in at the time). This title, like most of the Dark and Edge lines, looks like what a reinvigorated DC would look like without the reboot (but with even more continuity porn).

This has been an ongoing thing with the New 52 since it started. One of the most fascinating things is how the creative talent is being treated and told about various projects and how assignments are being given. I have wondered about the environment at DC since the relaunch was announced from the very start.

Hardly new though. These sort of things happen all the time. We just rarely heard about them in the pre-internet age. I recall Steve Engelhart being fired off Avengers in the 70s in the middle of a storyline.

In this case though it seems a lot of creators are displeased with the relaunch, or aren't being told stuff about what exactly is going on from editorial. Sure people have been fired or left before...but we didn't hear about this much disgruntlement prior to the relaunch at DC.

No Johnston didn't bother covering it. But creators leaving suddenly has been a problem at DC at least since after Infinite Crisis. It has nothing to do with the Reboot, which frankly has been a creative success so far. And nobody misses Simone on Firestorm or Liefeld on anything.

Wasn't that due to multiple missed deadlines?

i like Justice League Dark, but todays issue made me grumpy with a certain character showing up and immediately getting killed.

I'll probably read my DC books over the weekend, JLD will have to be the first one now.

^^ I agree, but it happened late enough in the issue ... and with little explanation as to who s/he was ... that I suspect a swerve of some kind.

Batman Incorporated 3 was awesome. I just love this book. Interesting to see what Morrison does with the zero issue next month.

For some reason, I assumed he wasn't being made to do one, since he actually has a six-year plan he's trying to finish. The Talia issue would have been ideal, I guess.
