Oh, I believe you and Alec. But you said:

"No costumes were donated to the Axanar production."

Not donating the costume is different from not ultimately using those donated costumes. I believe Alec when he says costumes actually were donated by Phase II that ultimately were not used for one reason or another. That's my only point.

I was told no costumes were used from Phase 2 on Axanar, and I assumed that meant that no costumes were donated at all. So my bad on that one...lol... So yeah, they ended up not using any donated costumes in the film. They just used fabric from Mr. Cawley for a couple of the shirts, which look great.

The trailer for "Prelude to Axanar" should be up for the public soon (like in a week).

Very good effects of the two fleets engaging each other. Multiple classes of ships for both sides of the conflict (looks like five ships types on each side plus a sixth class of super ship under construction. In this case the Klingon D-7 battlecruisers and the Constitution-class USS Enterprise). The acting is also very serious even though it is in a documentary style.

I can see both, since Kate Vernon looks like she's from the 1960s in that pic. (Although, Bain never really did it for me, I can see the vague resemblance at a quick glance). I had to take a moment and ask myself: 'Who is that actress?'

Then I recalled: Ah! The actress from Voyager episode - was it called 'Second Skin?' - and from Spike Lee's "Malcolm X!"

Barbara Bain is a funny one. At times she can look rather stunning, while at others, she comes across as someone's mom (which is not to imply that moms cannot be stunning, mind you!).

I think it's the hairstyle in the above picture that creates the Bain vibe.

Color me impressed. Apart from one nit, I actually find myself quite excited to see the actual film when it's complete.

    Well done to all involved.

Yep ... I could nitpick. I could criticize some of the artistic choices.

    BUT DAMN, THIS LOOKS AWESOME!

    Psion,

Not to put a fine point on it...but what things would you nitpick? Just simple curiosity.

Great, GREAT Tony Todd voice-over (the guy could do a mcdonald's commercial and I'd be entranced---Hey Abrams! How about hiring Tony for your newest Star Wars film villain, to be the 21st century James Earl Jones?)

Some of these space shots and the orgy of complex, beautifully elaborate FX. Tobias is insane! (can I have his baby?!)

My only nit is that in advertising the project like this, they've basically confirmed that the characters Hatch, Vernon, Todd, and Hertzler play (in addition to Soval) will all survive the events of the film, thereby severely cutting down on the element of danger or excitement that the film may attempt to present to us.

Certainly, it's possible that the film may not suffer from this, but viewing it from the perspective of a writer and producer, that was the first thing that jumped out at me.

    It does look awesome, yes.

    D05,

We know that Garth makes it beyond any doubt. This being a Historical movie, I think people will get caught up in the moment!

Things like; "Well, we know ship-x makes it! But how much damage did she take? How many crew lost? I want to see the Hero's of the day!!" I believe people will become absorbed by the story unfolding in a way that really Takes Us There to relive it all.

    Live long and prosper!
