After the recent election, my one and only advice to people: Calm the fuck down. I find this advice useful for many situations.
Forgive. And not just for the one you are forgiving, but for yourself as well. Learn to let go. Life is too short to hold onto garbage.
A counterpoint to the posts about saying yes... Don't say yes when you really mean no. Don't let yourself be taken advantage of. Don't be a doormat. If you don't take care of yourself, you won't have much to offer anyone else.
It's a toss up between Wheaton's law and a bit of advice from Ron Swanson...I'm going to go with Ron on this one: “Never half-ass two things. Whole-ass one thing.”
With all things in life, address them a day at a time. Deal with today's bullshit today, and let tomorrow come on its own terms. And sometimes you may need to deal with things an hour at a time ... and that's okay.
It doesn't really matter whether you try or not, though, right? I mean, the ejection systems are going to be offline anyway.
The funny thing is, my car currently has a ton of water bottles, granola bars, a sleeping bag, and a tent in it. Not because I'm preparing for aliens, but because I haven't cleaned it out since getting back from Sunday's climbing trip. You've just given me a convenient excuse to leave it a mess indefinitely.
When that little voice tells you to stop and think before speaking, try listening to it this time. (Watches as all TrekBBS interaction shinks to 2% of its previous size) Oops
At least once a day, do something that makes you break into a sweat. How you accomplish this is up to you. Doesn't have to be the same thing (or same person) everyday.
