I flip the radio around to three different classic rock stations throughout the day and I swear I can't go more than two hours without hearing Elton John's Crocodile Rock. That is one of the most annoying songs of all time:

He's one of my favorite artists.

What I really detest hearing is this song about a small town that talks about the artist growing up in a small town and living in a small town. The title must be "Small Town." What an imbecilic song.

Are you referring to this one? It does get rather monotonous.

That's John Mellencamp?! I had heard of the name but didn't realize he had such limited vocabulary. How did that man ever get a recording career? :vulcan: Small town dick.

As a big Snow Patrol fan I was pleased a couple of years ago when they started to get commercial airplay with "Chasing Cars", but the stations just ran that song into the ground. Though on the positive side it meant that the band was generally popular enough that they brought their album tour here.

On a more recent note, two song that seem to be played all the time are "Brave" by Sara Barielles and "Rude" by Magic.

Pharrell "I'm Happy". If I never hear that again it'll be way to soon.

Personally I love it when that song is on the radio. I start singing it while inserting extra "small towns" anywhere I can squeeze in the syllables. Passenger reactions range from it being hilarious to it being the most horrific thing they've ever been exposed to. But hey you're never gonna please everyone.

Because repeating a phrase in a song is unheard of, especially if the phrase is central to the theme of the song.

Uhh, most of the song is just him rhyming "small town" with "small town". I mean sure there's repetition in most music but still.

    Kinda reminds me of:

Rhyming? None of the rhyming lines in the song end with "small town".
