http://www.flickeringmyth.com/2014/07/expendables-3-leaks-online-just-weeks-release.html Apparently more than 100,000 copies have already been downloaded on the first day already. I'm actualy surprised this doesn't happen more often with Hollywood movies, with so many people getting a hold of the complete movie before the actual release and such lax security. Will this hurt how much the movies makes?
Obvious and hardly needs to be said, but: "public domain" does not mean what the article quoted in the OP seems to think it means.
The entire website is a form of publicity. Does that mean we should refrain from discussing Star Trek, StarGate, Doctor Who, or CSI, because it's publicity?
I'm not sure "the entire website" condones downloading Star Trek, StarGate, Doctor Who, or CSI. Here it's almost enticing as in "boasting"
That is not what you said. What you said is "Making it a headline on a public forum is a form of publicity." What is your actual argument, and what stake do you have in this? I admit, I am curious about your overreaction. I may have missed it, but I do not recall you raising similar arguments during the discussion about the leaked Doctor Who episode or scripts. Or did you address those concerns privately, perhaps? If not then, why does this topic outweigh that one?
Haven't seen the first two, it's unlikely I will ever watch he third unless I am tricked or forced into doing so. (Forced of course could mean that the remote control is too far away from where I am laying down... But that's more about being betrayed by the length of my arms.)
Yeah, that immediately jumped out at me as a really poor choice of words given the subject matter of the article. I get that they were going for "The illegal copy is available to the public to download" but saying it's in the "public domain" comes across as tacitly supporting it.
Who was cut form the 3rd movie? Bruce Willis? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbi...ndables-3-demanding-fee-1million-PER-DAY.html Yup. Bruce leaked the movie.
There are those who only watch movies that they have stolen online. Whatever. I enjoyed the first two with my daughter and will happily be taking her to see the third. Love them on the big screen.
