Star Blazers - Space Battleship Yamato - Should I?

You forgot the forthcoming: Yamato: Rebirth Film series.

Edit: My bad, I didn't see that you specified the "original" series. My goof for speed reading.

 

I ate this up as a kid. Haven't watched it now as a 41 year old but plan to do so.

Did that with Robotech/Macross, and yes, weaknesses that past me by as a kid, but I tuned those out and was still amazed at the strengths, epic scope, growing, changing characters, and a war story that was really about war and it's consequences, not just an excuse for action pieces.

I suspect it will be the same for Starblazers, but I will enjoy it nonetheless.

And can't WAIT for the live action.

 

I loved it when I was younger. Very "speed racer"ish....in the framing of the stories, but none-the-less, fun if taken in context of when it was made...
