I've had football on the brain recently since the college season starts up in a few weeks. Among all that, this popped into my head:

(Please zoom in all the way for the full effect! It's 1600x1200.)

I got the technique to do it from this thread on another board: http://boards.sportslogos.net/index.php?showtopic=43204&st=0
There's a tutorial in the first poster's signature, and it also has a PSD as a starting point. Since I don't have Photoshop or Illustrator, I had to adapt some of the techniques to GIMP and Inkscape.
A more recent thread on the same board: http://boards.sportslogos.net/index.php?showtopic=74893&st=0

    So, :techman: or ? :D

Another one, just a logo this time. My only problem with this one is that I had a really nice deep red color on the jersey, but JPGs have lousy compression on red, so I had to change it to blue to get a decent file size. Still nice looking though. I may eventually upload the red version to my deviantArt page.
