And I'm amused how much that pisses off so many Bond fans.

Well, Bond fans got their money's worth with Miss Fields, I'd say!

I recall, when I saw Quantum in theaters...when Bond and Fields were making out, guys in the audience were cheering. ;)

As for Camille...no, they didn't make out--but the ending seems to imply that she wants to...but they both know they have to go their seperate ways, and any relationship would conflict with that.

There's the slight implication that she'll be back someday, though.

(I will say...I recall a Maxim interview where the actress mentioned a "bed" scene Cammile did have with Bond. Perhaps it was cut from the film after she gave the interview...?)

NOW--to Skyfall. If Naomi's character is a female agent, there's a good bet M would not take kindly to Bond and her in bed. After all...in the last film, that didn't go so well for Miss Fields.

It's nearly a guarantee Bond will carry on with the "glamorous and enigmatic" mademoiselle, though....

Castle would have kicked Bond's ass if he slept with Camille anyways ;)

Stana deserves to be a Bond girl for longer than a couple of minutes though!

Well, if--as Bond noted--her character is with Canadian Intelligence, it's possible she'll be back in a later film....

^ I doubt it. She was connected to Vesper's ex. That's the only reason why she was in the film in the first place. It would be nice to see her again but she wasn't really that important.

There is a joke in there about Canadian Intelligence, but I think I'll pass for right now...

I watched Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace back-to-back this evening and I noticed something peculiar. The name of the aircraft Le Chiffre plotted to destroy in Casino Royale was called Skyfleet and the name of the airline where Bond had his credit card rejected in Quantum of Solace was called Ocean Sky. Odd coincidence? Maybe. Maybe not.

Interesting observations. Perhaps while there won't be any connection to Quantum in "SkyFall" maybe we'll stumble upon another organization or group?

Archer had a pretty entertaining view of it:

"Does Canada even have intelligence agents?"

    "yes..."

    Scoffs, "...Why?!?"

Yeah I have to agree that line is really old. If one actually watches the Bond movies, the whole "more 007's equal" thing actually dates back damn near to day one. Pussy Galore, Tracey, Anya, Holly Goodhead (that's two high-ranking female 00-equivalents in a row), Melina Havelock (who actually beats Bond to an assassination), Octopussy, Pam Bouvier (another spy), Michelle Yeoh's character in Tomorrow Never Dies, and (like her or hate her) Jinx. I'd include Vesper too, though more in the verbal side of things since her character isn't depicted as a killer.

So, really, the stereotype was busted ages ago (heck, a case can even be made for Honey Ryder). And was destroyed forever when M became a woman.

Now what I would like to see is for them to put their cards on the table and pair 007 up with 008 and make 008 a woman, perhaps a more experienced 00, maybe even older than Bond. Basically think M but 20 years younger. Now THAT would break the mould and give us a Bond "girl" equal to 007.

Amen. Much as the feminists like to whine about how "demeaning" the Bond girls are...in reality, Bond girls are as a rule pretty darn empowered. And have been, since Dr. No. And it's not just Honey. Sylvia Trench (the girl who plays baccarat in the legendary "Bond--James Bond" scene) was confident, and highly capable (she somehow managed to get into Bond's apartment!).

As it stands, I'm reminded of the commercial where the voice of M asks Daniel Craig's Bond, "Are we equals, 007?" etc.

Frankly, I'd have had, after the camera pulls into a close-up, and M asks the question again, "Are we equals, 007?"...Bond replies, "No, Ma'am. You're my boss...."

    Hmm...but still attractive, of course?

Someone give a good look to, say, Nicole de Boer....

One of my all-time favorites, if not the all-time favorite, has to be Kissy Suzuki. That one climbed a volcano, went down again, swam to mainland while being shot at from a helicopter, got reinforcements, climbed that volcano again, climbed down into the secret SPECTRE lair inside of the volcano on a rope, kicked a lot of henchman-ass, all the while only clad in a bikini after dark when it had to be freezing outside (especially in the water) and still had enough power to get on with Bond in that rubber raft.

Let's see some of those "007's equals" beat that.

My personal favorite Bond Girl is Domino in Thunderball. An innocent soul, who even after being tortured by Largo--still saves Bond's neck, blasting the scum into the next life.

Read again: the girl saves Bond--as opposed to the typical other-way-around.

It's time for Judi Dench to become the Bond girl. For Queen and country, James!

Only if Bond is played by someone comparatively mature.

Gary Oldman, perhaps? His character in Tinker Tailor is an old, retired MI6 veteren....
