Although in the State of the Beta Address they mentioned they'd run a test shard for trialling future changes.

That's the head start - any account with a "Pre-order" key attached to it can play it before hand.

Two days left and I'm still on the fence about the lifetime... so many reasons not to do it (Cryptic's treatment of Champions Online and the cost), but man... I really want to do it to not have the pressure of a subscription.

Shouldn't the servers be running by now?

    I can't login apparently.

I'm getting "Unable to authenticate." Probably issues with high load. More than a few people took the day off to play.

Yeah, I get the same exact message. If you notice, they shut down their forums and you are not able to log in on their website either. All brilliant moves as no will be able to know what the heck is going on.

    Same here.
Was to be expected, of course. There aren't many servers that could handle this mass of simultaneous requests.

The boards are down, because they're "resetting" them as well. Just like they did after closed beta.

Its really frustrating to me though. Even if it is to be expected.

    Thanks!

Lifetime...I dunno. If I'd done lifetime with City of Heroes (had it been offered) it would have paid for itself years ago.

I've been able to login but am not seeing the option to create a Borg character for my lifetime subscriber bonus. Anyone else able to and maybe I'm just missing it?

Go in with a human character then when you get in game go to the cryptic store. there will ba a tab for special offers. You can then activate the Borg option there.

I get more "bang-for-my-buck" with the Digital Deluxe Edition then people buying the regular edition with lifetime subscription...
I paid €10 more and get all this, versus paying €175 for a playable borg character and 2 extra character slots...
And you get the 2 extra character slots with the anual subscription as well...

Yeah but does it come with a disk copy to reinstal the game if you have to reformat your computer or have to switch to a new one?
