Kurtzman and Orci to write the sequel? Seems so, as Vanderbilt, who wrote the first movie and a draft of the second one, is tied up with his Die Hard/ Air Force One/ S.7 of 24 rip-off White House Down

This is awesome news as far as I'm concerned. I'm surprised Orci and Kurtzman have the time given all their own current projects. Vanderbilt also wrote a draft of "Spider-Man 4" before it was axed by Sony.

 

"The Amazing Spider-Man" will get another trailer, this time attached to "The Avengers". So that is now Batman and Spidey!

Just like the Cylon toaster I fully expect to see this show up on The Big Bang Theory next season. Unless the ties to Warners really shut it down from up top.

I hear it's just going to be briefly, but at least there is some "labcoat lizard" shots.


This alone doesn't make me suddenly go "oh, it's going to rock" though. I'm still just MEH on this movie as much as I love Spider-man.

 

Now they can sell another action figure!

Wow, now THAT is a properly badass Spidey trailer, and the first one since the teaser to really get me excited for this movie. The Spidey scenes all look incredible in this, and are much more inventive than the previous trailer let on.

I just hope we don't have to sit through an hour of origin story to get to all that cool stuff.

Still though, as far as trailers go it definitely blows the TDKR one out of the water, imo.

 

Really, I think no matter what The Lizard is going to be a disappointment without the build-up we've had of him over the first three S-M movies with Dylan Baker. Really, he should have been in Spider-Man 3 instead of Sandman and Green Goblin 2, also I guess Venom if Rami was going to half-ass it. (But, it was forced on him so any use of Venom would be a team-up with The Lizard.)

 

Am I the only person who thinks this furor over apparent changes to the particulars of why Peter gets his powers is a whole lot of "much ado about nothing"?

I don't think Sony should've scrapped Raimi's Spidey franchise and started things over from scratch, but I'm still going to give this movie a chance because I'm a Spider-Man fan.

 

It is interesting that such a young film franchise would go the dark and gritty origin reboot route of Batman, Bond and Trek. Seems unnecessary but I sense this'll be a good film regardless.
