Thanks for the update on Exeter Maurice... one frame at a time,24 frames a second, but I like it.

I think the crew was in some kind of trouble.

My computer has crashed two times in the past year, so I'll have to download them all over again anyway...

And we're thinking about going to Mars. I'm convinced electronic equipment is alive somehow or as in white noise, controlled by the other side. Of what, I don't I don't know, my neighbor who hates me maybe.:guffaw: Like Darth Vader, he can come through my computer and throttle me.:rommie::vulcan::cardie::lol:

    IMHO, that's not maddening...that's progress.
And thanks to both of you for your efforts.
Also, add one more 'awesome' vote for that Polaris holo-display shot.

There's one particular set of VFX at the climax that've been a problem. Some things are easy to write (a made-up example: "a cloud, streaked, like neon become fog") but hard to turn into actual visuals. Just laying out the composition of these shots has been a challenge, let alone implementing them. This is further complicated (in a good way) by Jimm's desire that everything look like something you could have done in 1970 with the technology of the time.

Plenty. And that they weren't very common in 1970. :)

Maurice, something tells me you'll figure this out and then make it look like it was oh-so-easy so that we might not realize this is what you were referring to here. In that case, please point this out when you put up the finished product.
I don't know about anybody else, but the tech postings here fascinate the hell out of me. I don't understand a lot of it, but it's an interesting read nonetheless.

Hoo boy. If I showed you some of the trickery that goes on you'd probably be amazed...or at least appalled. Maybe it's a bit like seeing how sausage is made.
