True, but Noonien and Juliana where 'considered' Data's parents (creators) and Beverly's parents where never named.

    BTW, correct. Your turn.

I know we're pulling strings here, but the question asked was about birth parents specifically. You could make the case for Worf and Mogh as Mogh was never depicted on screen, but was mentioned several times. Data was not born though. As I said before, he was built and/or assembled. Pulling strings to be sure, but there's a difference.

This might be a bit too vague... What visual effect was used repeatedly throughout the series, but was also, simultaneously used --again, repeatedly throughout the series-- as two effects representing two completely different things?

Is it Q power activation and the Ent-D going to warp? Specifically, the white flash associated with those things?

What is the first episode, by air date, in which the phasers of Enterprise-D are fired?

    Wouldn't Troi also be correct?

We've seen her mother many times and her father, Ian, had been mentioned and was seen in Dark Page.

THe question was about BOTH parents not being mentioned or seen. Since we saw Lwaxana many times, and she and Troi's father were also mentioned from time to time, Troi wouldn't work as an answer to the question the way it was asked.

Didn't they rig the phasers to an energy beam in EaF? To feed the creature? Sure, the beam came from the Captain's yacht, but the dialogue does say that they were rigging the main phaser banks to deliver the energy beam.

Not what I'm looking for, but good point.

    The line is [http://www.chakoteya.net/NextGen/101.htm]:

The intent of my question is that a regular phaser beam is emitted. I'd like to ask to try again.

Correct; that's the one I was looking for! Quite a ways to wait for it, which is why it stuck in my brain first run.

    Maxwell Everett is up.

The correct answer is Worf, who had his birth father, Mogh mentioned many times, but whose birth mother was never mentioned nor shown by name

All TNG principle characters who've ever had parents mentioned by name

Jean-Luc Picard - Father Maurice, Mother Yvette
Will Riker - Father Kyle, Mother Betty
Deanna Troi - Mother Lwaxana, Father Ian Andrew (AKA Alex)
Geordi La Forge - Mother Silva, Father Edward M.
Beverly Crusher - Father Paul Howard, Mother Isabel Howard
Wesley Crusher, Father Jack, Mother Beverly
Ro Laren - Father Ro Gale, Mother Ro Talia
Data - Noonien & Julianna Soong (Creator & guardians) birthed from the genius of a man, as it were ;)

In which episodes of TNG were these established? I don't recall any of them being mentioned in the series or films, which is the body of knowledge this "game" is limited to -- and by your own wording of the question itself.

Worf's mother is the perfect answer - I can't believe nobody thought of that.

I still think Data / Dr. Soong shouldn't count, as Data was built and assembled, not born from Julianna's reproductive organs, but whatevs.

I propose a new rule for this thread:

When a question is answered, a new question cannot be asked until the one who asked the question confirms the correct answer and the first person who answered correctly. The first person to answer correctly then may ask the new question.

If the person who answered the question does not confirm the correct answer with 24 hours, anyone may ask a new question.

Yes, it'll slow down the thread, but it's not going at warp speed anyway.

Except for Riker, they are briefly glimpsed in Conundrum and in The Next Phase. That is according to Memory Alpha, but the two episodes did show lots of information for those with good eyes or a good DVD player.

    Okay:

"Shades of Gray" is 45 minutes, 28 seconds long (in NTSC). To the nearest minute, how much of the episode is devoted to recycled clips? Not including the main or end titles.

I'm not sadistic. You don't have to watch the entire episode with a stopwatch or anything... just make a guess. Whoever comes the closest first without overestimating wins.
