Well nero asks captain robau the stardate, so he knows he's in the past, and they work out it will take approx 25 years for prime spock to show up, so i would say he knows he has changed history.

I would presume Number One would have her own ship by now. Its eight years after when the cage would have happened if Nero wouldn't have wiped out all of trek save Enterprise.

That's true, but the question is really about the fact that this is an alternate universe now. Unlike in 99% of the other Trek time travel excursions wherein the time travelers ended up in a... something akin to the same timeline, simply modified, and so could set things right and return to their original, repaired timeline, in this film, the time travel, for whatever reason, creates a wholly different, disconnected timeline which is, if I am not mistaken, referred to specifically as an alternate universe. There is no resetting things, fixing the timeline, etc. In other words, the Vulcan Nero destroys isn't the one from his own timeline, but a "different," alternate one. Does he know this, or not?

What is Nero up to during the 25+ years after his encounter with the Kelvin?

Residing in a klingon prison, thanks partly to george kirk's actions, planning the best way to punish spock. Alternate universe wise possibly not all he knew is that older spock would still feel the pain of watching it destroyed without being able to help.

Is it ever revealed, in the film, exactly what year it is? Or are we just guessing, based on Kirk's age?

Do the scenes with young Kirk and Spock work?

I'm assuming you mean the non adult kirk/spock scenes, yes the spock scene i enjoyed more, but they both work, and they are just the right length.

Does anyone know if Bruce Greenwood has a three picture deal like the 'Big Seven'?

Do we see any Klingon ships in the film? I heard Nero destroys quite a lot of them at one point.

Is Kirk's boarding the Enterprise his first time in space? (not counting when he was born on the shuttle).

Is the starship he sees in Iowa the Enterprise or not?

Are Kirk and Spock classmates at the academy?

    Does Nero attack Earth?

I should imagine Trek's well used to cheese by now. I would never have suggested this if the producers hadn't gone completely over the top in wiping out the original. Not a very good move, IMO.

    1. Is there any mention of Robert April in the movie?

    2. Is anything seen in the Countdown comic also seen in the movie?

    Thanks!

I haven't seen it but from what I have read the movie makes it clear that Pike is the first captain of the Enterprise so I really really doubt there is anything about April.

I know this is JJ's universe, but this is awfully unfair to the late Jeffrey Hunter, Majel, and of course, whoever it was who played Veena.

Is Rachel Nichols' role just a glorified cameo? Does Diora Baird have a cameo?
