Jeff Lynne sounds exactly like he did 40 years ago. My biggest wish is a real ELO reunion. The full band, like in the 70's, with whoever is still alive.

I hate to say it, but I always assumed ELO was just Jeff Lynne and whomever he grabbed for that album, kind of like Karl Wallinger and World Party.

The original line-up was fairly steady. Obviously Jeff was "in charge" as far as writing, arranging & recording went.

I think the vocal harmonies were what suffered when the group was pared down in the 80's, though the music was still good.

Also the lack of stringed instruments in the 80's in favor of the synth. Again, not bad, just different and lesser somehow.

Have become hooked on Julia Nunes after recently picking up her latest album. She's my favourite musical discovery of the year. The whole album is great. Such a fun album with great songs.

^It's like Amber Benson walking around an office building on Miranda trying to wake up all the Pax-addled people. :techman: I like it. :D

Turn about's fair play - here's my favorite current obsession - Jane Lui

Yeah, I think the video perfectly encapsulates the fun of the album. It's great imagery. Love that bit with the popcorn. Ironically, the song that follows it is called Lullaby, which I think could be a hit on the radio if it became a single:

    Btw, your video didn't work.

Ever since I heard this song earlier this month, this Scottish pop group has been infiltrating my personal playlist:

I thought this thread could use a bump.

I've spent the last few hours converting some of my older CD's to mp3's.

Here's a couple great bands, with the same name. Both underrated, yet both started the careers of amazing guitar virtuosos.

Steeler - the early 80's U.S. metal band featuring a young Yngwie J. Malmsteen
