So, they kicked Ken Johnson to the curb again. Too bad, as he was pushing for something along the lines of the book he wrote that continued V from before he quit the project over script/story issues as the second mini-series was being developed. Considering the guy they got was the one who came up with the 'magical' Lizard/Hybrid' child that had 'mysterious' powers ; I think I'll give this re-imagining a pass.

Two words: Ham Tyler. To me, he was far and away the best part of V.
Sticking to the original idea of a WW2 analogy would be best.
And please, dear God, none of that "star-child" hooey. That was so cheesy, it was downright painful.

It's probably been long enough that, if a continuation rather than a reboot, that the Visitor's enemies the rebels were trying to contact could/should be showing up. Would certailny warrant another look at the show's universe.

Is Kenneth Johnson involved? If not, I'll be skeptical, but open to seeing how it plays out.

The truth is I don't know that a remake or sequel could capture what made the original miniseries so much fun.

    I second that sentiment, auntie.
I just don't see why TPTB shunts Kenneth Johnson?

Damn, I remember when V was *the event* on television. A young Robert Englund -- wow.

It's been long enough for the sequel

There's so many ways they could do this, it's hard to even guess whether this is good news or bad. A lot will depend on who they get in front of the cameras and behind.

But it is dates...I have it on DVD and, well, it has that disco-80s feel to it. If they do this they need some good actors to take over the important roles since, IMO, most of them were occupied by cheesy actors back in those times..

This must be a misprint. Peters' credits on IMDb only go back to 1991. He had nothing to do with the second miniseries in '84 or the TV show that ended in '85.

This is a total reboot. Beyond the name, this is just going to be Threshold/Invasion/Surface all over again, except we might get to actually see the aliens this time. May as well just pretend it's a totally new show, regardless of the name.

I'm up for that. Tho I'm still annoyed that Invasion was cancelled...maybe they can steal some of the potential that show had...

I also smell reboot. This is reminiscent of the Galactica situation with Larson and Hatch pushing for continuations and the studio just picking somebody else to reboot it. I think Galactica turned out well but V without Michael Ironside's Ham Tyler just seems like it wouldn't be as much fun. I hope they can find a happy medium and include some of the original characters.

Hmm, well the only thing that made it worth watching before was Diana the Dominatrix and Freddie Kruger eating mice.
