Hasn't he already done though? I thought he did it in the Mexican drug lord kidnapping episode.

Yes but in the recent one he talked about how heavy the encryption was and thats why he couldn't hack into it.

How many poor South American countries are going to have internal turmoil this season?

You are aware that fantastic means "really, really, really good" right?

Yes, I am aware of what "fantastic" means. Ok, maybe it was not a fantastic episode but I did think it was a really good episode. I enjoyed it.

Doesn't this weakness disqualify him from all field work?

The Chinese could task a satellite just to follow him around and periodically wind his memory back... Or be paid millions in ransom not to.

That's why they built in the new virus scan at the end.

The only issue I had with this episode is the love conquers his memory wipe moments. If we're going to do seasons of will they, won't they, it's going to be tiresome.

I get that CyberCom is into some pretty shady stuff, but even with his memory on the fritz, shouldn't the fact that all but one of the hostage takers was Chinese sort have tipped Gabriel off that they were probably not on his team? He still seemed to care about protecting the US from treason, so his prior loyalties were still somewhat intact.

Hubby the computer guy got a big laugh when all the monitors flicked back on--and made a computer-reboot noise, even when the computers weren't in the room.

Possible that there are speakers in the room.

The computer rebooting noise was coming from the COMPUTER itself--which was not in the room. That doesn't come from speakers. When your server reboots or goes down, you don't HEAR it unless you're sitting in the room with the servers. You will see the problem on your screen about drives not being accessible, but you don't hear anything.

Physically cutting the trunk seemed a bit much. Why not just turn a few pieces of key equipment off?

I guess they have to make it blatantly obvious for viewers who aren't tech savvy.
