Very happy about the renewal. I'm interested to see where this show goes long-term. The final four episodes of the current season start tonight. Trojan Horse.
Pretty good episode, obviously doing a lot of set-up for things to come. Super-secret-agent woman made a brief appearance to get information on Root and new British baddie makes a brief appearance--connection to Julian Sands' character, perhaps? What really annoys me is that we get one episode and then it's off again next week. ARGH.
If Jay O. Sanders and Julian Sands had been in this episode, the entire Rogues Gallery would've been touched upon.
Major DVR issue last night for me. Thursday nights I have POI passed to record all new episodes at 9. 930 passed for new Anger Management episodes. Well FOX decided to throw a wrench in and run a new episode of New Girl at 930 and for some reason on it's own the DVR decides to not record POI, the show that starts first and can't be seen on demand or online. I'd have care less if it had dropped one of the other two because they are re-run and are available online. POI not so much. Can someone please run down the important plot points I missed so I'm not lost next week?
I love that Bear has a communicator now! He's really become an integral part of the team this season. Looks like we're off for two weeks now. Next episode's on the 25th.
Finally! It seems like forever since the last episode and it's only been three weeks. Allison Scagliotti is listed as appearing in this ep; In Extremis. Don't look at me like that!
I know; there's been too many breaks. This was a good one---for Fusco, anyway. The story with the doctor wasn't all that compelling, since it was solved pretty darn quickly. But the machine is failing and it looks like it's completely crashing for next week. Great development for the Carter/Fusco relationship; for a moment there, I thought Fusco was thinking of offing himself. Glad that didn't happen.
Only 2 more episodes left this season. I hope that in season 3 that CBS doesn't air the show so sporadically.
Finch finds the password and fixes the machine. Here's the real problem. The machine doesn't just live on line. It's a huge physical device. The US Government spends millions, if not billions servicing and staffing every year. If it doesn't work. They're going to turn it off.
I really liked the doctor storyline. I loved the concept of finding the murderer before the victim dies (although they did overuse variations of the line "I'm the man you murdered).
If you really liked it, you should see the original movie "D.0.A." with Edmund O'Brien (not the crappy '80s remake with Dennis Quaid). It's a film noir classic.
This is the second time this season that Dennis Boutsikaris has played a character on a CBS show that was poisoned. A few months ago he was poisoned on Elementary. Dude, what's up with your agent?!?
I liked how even the beginning had the machine dying out. This was a very good episode; can't believe this season will over next week!
I figured out who Ernest Thornhill was just before it was revealed. It did. I'm glad it wasn't. I love little touches like those.
