I made some homemade pico de gallo today. Everything (save the limes) was fresh from the garden.

OMG it's good! I substituted the vinegar with tequila. I think it'll be a permanent change.

Just had hot dogs and dill and red bliss potato salad, but they were hot dogs roasted over a fire on a stick at a little lake cabin we've rented for the week. Nothing like fire-roasted hot dogs to make you feel like a kid again. Especially when they were followed by S'mores for dessert.

Tuna steak and peas. I never had a tuna steak before but I think I still prefer the tuna from the tin.

Stopped by Wagamama and chose the chicken raisukaree - tender marinated chicken breast stir-fried in a coconut and lime curry sauce with mangetout, peppers, red and spring onions, fresh ginger and garlic. Served with steamed white rice and garnished with mixed sesame seeds, red chillies, coriander and lime. Pretty good for a cold evening.

Well tonight Son and I had 'party food ~ duck rolls, chicken skewers, onion bhaji, dips, bread ~ basically anything that makes your finger sticky and allows you to gossip and eat at the same time :mallory: Whilst watching the soaps saying ' what's he doing back?' Is she pregnant by him?' 'Oh I love her, don't let him break her heart'. That, for me is the best eating experience ~ no pressure, chatting, laughing, and enjoying each others company. I really do believe that meal times should be when you catch up with everyone. At my in laws it was silence at the table. I ended up getting totally tipsy and talking complete rubbish. I was invited back regularly purely for the entertainment value :guffaw:
