, and that 'coffee' was actually

Sorry, I'm not trying to offend, honest. And you're probably right, I don't usually hate to be a stickler --it's just the way I am-- except when it bothers others. I personally just think that, in story-in-the-round threads like this, the use of quotation marks would help clarify to all the participants when characters start and stop talking, thus making continuity between posts a bit smoother. Annnnd, I should probably shut up now. ;)

I apologize if I come off as a grammar Nazi... I guess it's my nature. I hope you can forgive this fellow poster for not being able to control his inner English major.

    His taste buds are alien...

Daneel, I have a B.A. in Journalism and lived by the AP stylebook and Harbrace college handbook for a few years. I enjoy good grammar and punctuation; but I don't feel compelled in a casual venue like this. I am curious why you didn't quote your own post while pointing mine out, though. Clearly the doctor is still speaking.

    hence its appeal to him."

(Sorry, Jeri, I guess I'm just digging myself a deeper hole here! I hope you don't think I'm suggesting you're ignorant or uneducated -- I would never dream of doing that in a million years. I actually greatly enjoy reading your posts. As for quoting my own post, I'm not quite sure which post you're referring to, but if I've made a spelling or grammar mistake somewhere, by all means, point it out! I think if I've made one thing clear, it's that I like to make sure the sentences I write are error-free. ;))

Daneel, I meant putting your post in quotes, since it was someone speaking. They still sound like someone speaking, but are not in quotes. So, I don't get you.
