I'm not saying some of us are old, but there's a reason we've been called "Ulysses Grant"...and not because of our rampant and embarrassing alcoholism. Congrats, Roshi!

[scrooge] humbug! [/scrooge] We're far from being old fossiles! We're like a good wine: we get better with age!
As for myself: I intend to live forever.

I'm still around. Mainly reading and lurking these days, but I'm still around. I consider myself an old, old timer.

hey! More familiar names! YAY!! :)

Niorah, you certainly are a creature of habit. You even have the same avatar :)

Ahem, there are only 11 months between August 2001 and July 2002, brother :p
Btw, seeing your signature quotes - Holdfast is another oldtimer I haven't seen in this thread yet.

Memories...like the corners of my mind...

Nice thread! I post here just enough times a year to keep from getting pruned. ;) I own REFCL now, I took it over from BobbyT in 2007. I keep it open just to keep it open, really. Traffic has slowed down there and at LoNAF, but they're both still around. Most active people from your list who post at those sites also post at TK, or at least in the Mine Field forum. There's still a TK chatroom too.

TK's war with Trek faded away years ago -- TK has since invaded plenty of other boards, and collected additional new lifetime members in the bargain. But it no longer has the "wild west" atmosphere it once did. Mentalist took it over from missmanners a few years back, and although there are still trolls and trolling going on, everybody has gotten 10 years older (if not wiser) and, well, life goes on.

What an unexpected pleasure! Welcome back, biotech!!!!!

Gagh, of course you count! Who could resist the Klingon national dish! :D

Loki, thanks for the update. I haven't seen Bobby in ages. Is he still around?
I had no idea of mm having given up the board. I just noticed that she stopped posting. I don't go there much and I never post at the minefield. I guess that's why I didn't see you there yet. Is there a regular TK chat evening or is it at random intervals?
I'm not sure whether to offer my congratulations or commiserations at you getting REFCL. Running a board and keeping it alive, active and bug-free is quite a challenge. (I've been tech admining bords myself for exactly a decade now.)

What happened to the not-so-nice people nobody has asked about yet? (now, why, I wonder? :D ) Barcode, Blooded, Castek, Che, Jethro, Lighter, RedWhacker and RobL come to mind but I am sure if we try really hard we can come up with more names.

Then you are an old, old, old timer! :p

Good to see you too, bro. Hope all is well with your lovely family. :)

Rhubarbodendron, I made that awful little avatar myself, so it holds a special place in my heart! :D

    Welcome back loki.

I actually took a look at it the other day. Tried to log in, but need to get a new password. Kinder forgot to send that email off. Will do sometime over the weekend.

Hey to Niorah, biotech and Gagh also.

hey, this is starting to feel like the Flaptain's Lounge back in 2002 or EFCL when it started =)
I'm beginning to feel really comfortable here again. This thread is almost like a lounge for Oldtimers.

Oh, we totally forgot Lorn of the Deathwok and Parallaxis. Are they still around? (Or was that one and the same person? I recall that Para had a few aliases)

Well I wouldn't put Barcode and Jethro on a list of not so nice people, but that's just me. Jethro's still around sometimes but haven't seen Barcode post in years.

Jethro flamed me in a very un-priestly way, hence he's not exactly on my nicest poster list.
Barcode cyber-mobbed an ex-BF of me.

Speaking of ancient times: what happened to Lizardlaugh? I always loved that name and she was always friendly to me. I couldn't say anything negative about her and was quite surprised when I was told she got banned.
