I thought Jackie Cooper was fine in the role. His Perry White was certainly colorful and never boring. Though interestingly, Keenan Wynn would have played him if he hadn't gotten sick.

He had a little pep talk with the Planet staff when Superman reappeared where his line "Does he still stand for Truth, Justice, all that stuff?" caught some flak from the usual suspects. He also managed to work in a "Great Caesar's ghost".

I thought Langella was fine, although perhaps a little cold.

^ He just didn't get much to do. He was fine but forgettable. Now, when you see him in the likes of Frost/Nixon, you remember how good Langella can be. Fair enough, Perry is merely a supporting role, but compared to, e.g. JJ Jameson in the Spider-man movies, they really did sell this great actor short.

Superman Returns is the most tepid blockbuster film ever made and it sold everyone short, their lead actor in particular

I've had those vibes since Goyer was announced as writing the script. Said all along that it would appear to be structured similar to "Batman Begins"

When they hired a tall, good looking actor with a well toned body to play Wolverine. :p

Does that mean "boring, with a ridiculously stupid villainous plot to thwart"? I hope not. The only thing that could make Batman Begins more tedious would be to watch it in Snyder Time.

Looks like it's the aftermath of a action sequence.

I lost all faith in Goyer after I saw the Blade spoof movie he wrote and directed.

Btw, when is Guillermo del Toro going to direct Blade III?
