I couldn't find what I thought was a favorite captain thread. I found a best captain actor thread but that sounds like the choices would be like William Shatner, Patrick Stewart, etc. I don't wanna know that. I wanna know who your favorite captain is. Kirk, Picard, Sisko, Janeway or Archer.
    So please vote.
I voted for Sisko. He seems the most commanding, the most in-charge. Sisko seems more like a force to be wreckoned with than the other 4.

You left out many good captains, so it is not a very accurate poll. My all time favorite would be Captain Pike from ST09.

    Kirk rules!

Archer and Janeway second, 'cause they had to do the job without any kind of backup. heck, Archer had to figure it out on his own.

Sisko would be next, 'cause he had to deal with a war, and Picard would be last 'cause he basically just patrolled a dull and bloated empire.

Pike was pretty cool too, just didn't see enough of him. I still think they shoulda had Ray Liotta play him.

By a hairs' breadth, Janeway. Kirk is partnered with Spockm, dividing my favoritism. Plus, there was more Janeway than Kirk, Voyager lasting longer than Star Trek.

Easy question for me. Its gotta be Janeway *swoon*

I like that she's always breaking the Prime Directive, antagonising aliens, kicking alien arse and saving Voyager single handedly. So then if she wants to look smug I say she has good reason to.

Picard. The most intelligent, most cultured, and most interesting character in Star Trek.

Sisko was my favorite, cuz he was human & had flaws & got pissed off. Then probably Janeway. Not a big fan of Picard.

I'm sure there were alot of other worthy choices in various episodes of each of the Star Trek shows and in the Star Trek movies. But this poll/thread is just about the 5 primary captains:
    Kirk
    Picard
    Sisko
    Janeway
    Archer. :shifty:

I guess I'd say Captain Kirk, but only as sort of a least-bad option. Really, the five regular Captains tended to be some of my least favorite characters.

Kirk-too much of an egotistical, arrogant hotshot(Pine's Kirk is even worse)
Picard-too much of a pompous speech-maker who was waaay to letter-of-the law on the atrocious Prime Directive, leading to things like "Homeward" and "Pen Pals"
Sisko- not too bad until the whole goofy "he's a half-prophet messiah!" thing
Janeway-an autocratic, bipolar nutcase who made arbitrary decisions
Archer-listening to Phlox in "Dear Doctor." enough said.

However, as for the non-main five, Captain Spock and Captain Pike(both versions) are both good. And though I might come across as strange for this, I really like Captains Esteban and Harriman from the film series.

Sisko. Jellico a VERY close second.
