I'm a backer, so I get periodic updates, and some of the previews I've seen do make me kind of smile a bit. But it does look good. It definitely is not entirely the retro SF that I signed up for, but Marc Zicree's enthusiasm is infectious and he stays on target with his message of an optimistic future, so I'm looking forward to this. And it remains the pioneering example of crowd-funded independent moviemaking. I have high hopes.

By the way, MST3K just put up a Kickstarter yesterday.

Yeah, doesn't lok great...but worth a viewing on SyFy Saturday Nght movies... (and maybe Redbox for the unsuspecting).

I saw in the credits Bruce Boxleitner, Mira Furlan & Billy Mumy....and chance of a Babylon 5 reference?

Good lord. There's less cheese in Wisconsin than I just saw in that trailer.

    Lieutenant Bradbury?!?

Lordy, lordy.... that was awful. I can handle awful, but I want fun. Not really seeing that. I'll check it out, even if I can't finish it.

Aw, come on, it definitely looks fun. :rommie: They start shooting the second movie tomorrow. I'm really hoping this will achieve a strong cult following at the very least.

More power to them - but it does look pretty painful.

Not much faith in the film, they couldn't even cut a trailer together. Jeez.

I think it's designed to be kind of pulpy as it's an homage to that style. Also, I think it looks better than Phase 2

^^ Indeed. It's supposed to be a back-to-the-basics Space Opera.

If nothing else, it shows what's possible for independent creators these days.

    Ouch. :rommie:

Well, that certainly didn't generate any excitement. It's all paint-by-the-numbers with over-the-top melodrama. And the future is whiter than Wonder bread.
