Oh my, is it ever. But like any story worth its salt... you have to wait to get to the good stuff. It also combines 3 pairings which we don't usually see on Voyager, and a prominent minority that has been ignored for too long in Star Trek. And for all you people who really don't like Endgame, I think you'll really like how this tries to fix all the things people claim they didn't like about the finale, while keeping the poetics of Voyager's (Worst Case scenario reference) characters intact.
I'd like to say its my response to Pocket Books assasination of a great Admiral, but I had written the danged thing BEFORE I knew they'd killed her off the previous year. Sheeze! There goes my dream of selling the thing to Simon & Schuster.
Thanks for the rec. I may have to check the story out sometime, perhaps even during this summer. Now here's a fiddled J/C pic for all my J/Cers. Tee hee. It looks like Chakotay would rather fall asleep already than listen her going on and on...
Actually, I thought it looked more like Janeway was asking,"I thought you said there were SOME barriers we never cross?"
Errrr ten years!!! They're too old now!!!!! Alright I'll give it a go. Also a good long j/c fic I was hooked on is Dawn47 title: The Future is Ours I really enjoyed it.
Hrumpff! Whippersnapper! GATH: Couldn’t you create a new home here, with us? Can you imagine a more delightful place to live, where you could pass your time extracting pleasure from every moment. I promise you, you and I have many such moments to explore. JANEWAY: Yes, but for how long? I’ve seen how quickly you get tired of your pleasures. All that interests you is what’s new and unexplored. After a day or two it becomes commonplace. GATH: Yes? JANEWAY: We prefer permanence. The reward of relationships that endure and grow deeper with the passing of time.
Just take a look at JC's wedding album! http://www.newearth-jcparadise.de/holodeck.php#marriage I wonder what does it make soooo difficult to let them have this in the Trek lit books.
JanewayRulz! linked me to this thread, and I am happy to say that I am an avid J/C shipper. I'm not a fan of C/7 what-so-ever (because that thing seriously came out of the ass end of left field), but I liked Seven as a character. However, IMO she should have been paired with the Doc. Anyways, I'm happy to join this thread, and here are a few of my own fics that are J/C (or have a J/C slant): A coda to "Unimatrix Zero" Consolation My theory of what happened to Janeway after she went off with Lady Q in the novels: Things_Left_Unsaid Anyways, I'm happy to be here and look forward to more J/C discussions
Liked your "coda"! J/C lives even if Mulgrew refuses to agree with us! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iOMYKH4kjeY [yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iOMYKH4kjeY[/yt]
Oh! This thread is exciting! I'm a J/C shipper and love reading J/C fics. I'm going to read through the thread and see what I can find that I haven't read yet. Right now I'm reading "Tying the Threads" which has literally picked up all the loose ends after "Endgame" and given the story of the voyagers after their return to the AQ.
Welcome Violet.Phoenix. Nice to have another J/C fan here (although I`m more Chakotay fan then Janeway fan). I can`t watch the video. It isn`t available for German users.
Thanks, I'm happy to be here. And in terms of the characters, to each their own . I'm more of a Janeway fan myself.
