This is a game that was played here a couple of years ago, and it proved to be a lot of fun, spanning across each Trek series, as well as a great way to mentally revisit those episodes you may not have thought about in a while. With that in mind, why not play again? So, here's the game. The basic idea is your standard elimination game. I'll provide a list of the episodes for each season and you need to eliminate your least favorite or the one you deem the 'worst.' Please provide an EXPLANATION for why you are eliminating your choice and be sure to copy and paste the list with your choice removed. Finally, leave at least 2 eliminations by other posters before you eliminate another episode. No tactical voting! You cannot remove an episode because you feel they would threaten your preferred episode's chance to win. Pretty simple. Enjoy! I'll start off by removing Threshold. Do I really have explain this one? OK then, let's just remind you of the plot. Paris turns into a lizard. Yes, that's right. The writers of the show that's supposedly Science Fiction that this was a plausible storyline. Then Janeway also turns into a lizard and they mate as lizards and have lizard babies. And in the end, they go back to the ship, abandon their lizard babies, and joke about who made the first lizard move on whom. Tuvix: contrived premise that serves as the basis for an afternoon teen special. The Thaw, I haven't seen an episode worse than this one. The idea is nice, but they could have tried to let it look a bit less like a madhouse. I'll remove Tattoo. Ridiculous idea that Chakotay's tride has alien connections, also very convenient that they happen to ceom from the DQ. Also anyoen who can't man up for a nude scene doesn't deserve to go any further in this game. "Deadlock" subspace whirly things duplicates the ship and it's crew. More technobable. "Resolutions." Like a bad romance novel. The 37s Projections Elogium Non Sequitur Twisted Parturition Persistence of Vision Cold Fire Maneuvers Resistance Prototype Alliances Meld Dreadnought Death Wish Lifesigns Investigations Innocence Basics (I)
Elogium - because of stupid writers. The Ocampan females can only have ONE child???? How is there even a population? It also invoked the USS Reset Button because it said "whoops, just kidding, she can still have a child later." Prototype - Worst robots I've ever seen in my life, wearing clothes. Though I seem to remember similar types on the old Patrick MacNee/Diana Rigg series The Avengers. A lot of fairly average for VOY episodes with not much to choose between. But' I'm going for "Twisted" at least some of the other episodes whilst not the best of the season offered some small character moments The 37s Projections Non Sequitur Parturition Persistence of Vision Cold Fire Maneuvers Resistance Alliances Meld Dreadnought Death Wish Lifesigns Investigations Innocence Basics (I)
Alliances - it combines two of the things Voyager writers sucked at - Kazon and politics. The writers created the Kazon without ever really thinking about it. They're space nomads (or street gangs) who have to hunt for water, yet they have giant warships. Does not compute. Thankfully Voyager did everyone a favor by writing out the Kazon in Basics. "Persistence of Vision": Kes shrieking can break eardrums. The 37s Projections Non Sequitur Parturition Cold Fire Maneuvers Resistance Meld Dreadnought Death Wish Lifesigns Investigations Innocence Basics (I)
"Maneuvers" more from the ineffective Kazon The 37s Projections Non Sequitur Parturition Cold Fire Resistance Meld Dreadnought Death Wish Lifesigns Investigations Innocence Basics (I)
Parturition - The writers noticed that Neelix's and Tom's character development were severely lacking, so they remedy that by making them fight over Kes. "Set a course for PLANET HELL!" Also, the writers have really been overusing their thesaurus. The 37s Projections Non Sequitur Cold Fire Resistance Meld Dreadnought Death Wish Lifesigns Investigations Innocence Basics (I)
Innocence - Best moment was in the aired bloopers. Tuvok leads the little girl to the cave, then quickly runs away, saying "Man, I ain't going in there!" The 37s Projections Non Sequitur Cold Fire Resistance Meld Dreadnought Death Wish Lifesigns Investigations Basics (I)
"Non Sequitur": Harry Kim wakes up next to his girlfriend, whom he now realizes has the whiniest voice in the galaxy. He makes the obvious choice to get back to Voyager. The 37s Projections Cold Fire Resistance Meld Dreadnought Death Wish Lifesigns Investigations Basics (I)
I'll delete Investigations, for being a terrible conclusion to what was building up to be a promising arc. The 37s Projections Non Sequitur Cold Fire Resistance Meld Dreadnought Death Wish Lifesigns Basics (I)
It's time "Life Signs" to flat line. There are only a few good episodes from this season left the rest are fairly average.I've also updated the list to account for "Non Sequitor" being carried over due to two posts at the same time.
