    I'm sorry.

But that's just how the phrasing fell.

What, don't we do phrasing anymore?

I just can't see how Captain Kirk could in any way seem preferrable to Commander Riker, in the love department. Outside of looks, which we'll take as read is subjective for a moment, Kirk's a dead-beat dad of at least 1 kid we know about. What's more, he falls "in love" at the drop of a hat, like with Leonardo da Vinci's android. Hell ... one quick waltz in a living room, a game of pool and one glass of Saurian Brandy and Kirk's beating the living shit out of Old Man Flint for ownership of Rayna! Riker never pulled a stunt like that. And would Deanna continue to hold Will in her heart of hearts as her one and only "Imzadi," for all of those years, if Riker was little more than a man-whore? Again, outside of looks preference, I see no reason for a woman to choose Kirk over Riker. Chakotay probably would've had more women, if it hadn't been for his crush on Janeway. But we'll never know that, for certain ...

I know "imzadi" is supposed to mean "beloved", but it always sounded like some kind of lizard to me.

Kirk effortlessly made it to the edge of the galaxy, and then back to the centre and then back to halfway to the edge again where Earth sits in one life time.

Yeah, but Riker turned into a caveman.

You mean David Marcus? Logically speaking, Kirk can't be a dead-beat dad if he doesn't know he is a dad.

    "Why didn't you tell me?"

Riker was a Q. Kirk was only Platonian-ized.

    Archer fan?

Then that's a no. I was talking about the FX cartoon anyway. That sentence was part of a run on gag this season.

With all due respect, the actual line in that scene is:

    KIRK
    "Why didn't you tell him?"
    (meaning David)

It's clear that he had no idea David existed until she told him.

Otherwise he would have totes gone to all of David's baseball games.

Why would I waste my time on a cartoon that looks like the baby Steven McQueen and John Woo had?

    ;)

Seriously though, Pam has gone past smoking hot, and she's starting to look like Madam from Solid Gold.

18 pages is a lot but in case no one said it...

If Riker was captain they would have made it back to earth in 1-2 episodes, and all the enemy races including the borg and 8472 would be destroyed. And if you doubt that then he will snap you back so hard you'll think you're a first year cadet.

Riker would have stayed and helped rebuild the planet Ocampa.

(Which would be an odd thing to do, if he refused the job of Caretaker when caretaker offered it.)

From the city the Caretaker built, from the technology Caretaker left behind in there, it's possible that they could have put something together that might have got them home in a couple moments.

If Kes was a little smarter, aware of the facts she could not possibly have known, could she have petitioned membership to/with the Federation?

More likely, Riker would snap his own neck doing his 45° head tilt thing when he's informed that they're stuck on the other side of he galaxy.

That or tear his groin attempting to hoist his leg up onto the helm console, which on Voyager doesn't have that angled stand the Next Gen bridge did.
