I'm sure there will be. With the 2009 film, they first released several mini-series: "Countdown", "Nero" and "Spock Reflections". Each of these sold very well, so they eventually (ie. cover date: February 2010) did a film adaptation mini-series. Most comic publishers have given up trying to plan and release simultaneous comic adaptations. Now that movies come out on home video so fast, there is less interest in fans buying novelizations and comic adaptations. This time there's been a "Countdown to Darkness" mini-series, then sequel issues of the "Ongoing" comic (#21 onwards), and now the forthcoming "Khan" minseries. I'm fairly confident it will lead into an adaptation of the film. http://www.startrekcomics.info/
I won't say that it won't happen, but it's not likely. Sales on the 2009 movie adaptation and the Wrath of Khan adaptations were disappointing. The track record for Star Trek comics adaptations isn't good.
Yeah, I'm not sure there is interest from them to do an Into Darkness adaption. They don't really need to do one anyway. They can simply reference the film or even do flashbacks if they need to. It'd be kind of cool to get one...but I'm with Allyn on this one.
Not necessarily a bad thing. I do wish IDW would hire the OOOii people to do their lettering and console graphics, mind you.
