Kre-o? Crap Lego ripoff (how cool would a Lego Star Trek game be?) - but a couple of points of note since these are tied to Into Darkness- 1) Klingon Bird Of Prey, OK... 2) Bat'leth. 3) Gorn?

That seems to confirm that this ship in the trailer is the new Bird-Of_Prey:

Hasbro also announced a Micro Ship assortment with Klingon D7, Spock Prime's "Jellyfish" ship, USS Enterprise and USS Kelvin.

I think one of the trailers included a very brief glimpse of a bat'leth-wielding Klingon.

I don't see a mention in the TrekMovie article, but in the Comments thread I find this, posted by "NCC-73515":
Whether that may be taken to mean that we can expect to see a Gorn appearance in the movie, I don't know. The Gorn do figure in the upcoming game, though, so that could also be it.

I've just realized, the small ship the BoP is persuing here is very probably one of the "Enterprise fighter pods" Kre-o are advertising.

The Enterprise has fighters, Kre-o spoiled it and seemingly nobody's noticed yet...

Star Trek.com described: KREON figures of CAPTAIN KIRK, SPOCK, and DR. MCCOY on the bridge to defend against two villain KREON figures. Two villains?

I think you might be mistaken. I think those fighter pods have nothing to do with the movie.

Here is what Trek Movie says.
Sounds like they're something you can get with other Kre-o toys.

Yes, but without Kre-O and Character Building, we'd never get most of these tie-in sets. Lego can't do everything.

    Ah, okay. Thanks.

Dammit I kinda wanted to see what Trek fighters would be like!:)

So I wonder what that ship is, then? Kirk and co.'s civilian ride to Qo'nos?

It's pretty obvious that it's a toy limitation. The shuttle bay is too small for the shuttle to it in it, so they stuffed it behind the deflector dish. I had similarly bizarre toy ships that were all bridge when you opened them up (like the Defiant).

I have an old Corgi TOS Enterprise model that opens up the secondary hull like bomb-bay doors to release its bright orange shuttle. And it fires photon discs out of the saucer.

The Mego TOS bridge playset has a transporter where the turbolift doors should be.

The TMP bridge playset has a round airlock door in the wall.

The Playmates TNG Engineering playset connects to the TNG bridge.
