I'm surprised no one chose a universal translator. It would sell for millions and clear up a lot of misunderstandings.

Hmmm, interesting question... for me, it comes down to Transporter or Warp Drive. One would allow me to effortlessly travel the Earth, the other would allow me to explore beyond our solar system. Both would keep me occupied for a lifetime.

Probably Warp Drive, since I would be the first human (or one the first) to explore that vast unknown. Very intriguing to see what's out there.

I'm curious if I put "Augmenting Injection (your choice of what)" on there, how many people would have voted for it?

I voted for the UT, but if I had a free choice I'd go with complete and unfettered access to LCARS. Got to be better than, I.E., google, safari, bing etc. :)

LCARS would make Google look like a book a 6 year old wrote but it wouldn't really be fair as a choice. The schematics of everything in the poll could be found in there. I'd say out of the choices, the Tricorder would be the next best thing. Theoretically, a tricorder would be able to connect to any transmitting source (from radio waves to the Internet). You'd have access to all of today's information, as long as it's being transmitted.

Transporter. I HATE driving. I HATE walking. I HATE riding a bike to where I need to be. I HATE hopping on a plane. I hate transportation. Get me from point a to point b in a fraction of a second.

^I already stated that the Warp Drive choice gives you the ship.

I wish to do something related with space in the future, and the original poster said that the Warp Drive also gives you the ship.

Ever have one of 'THOSE PEOPLE' that just enjoy pushing your buttons? Next time they do, push the trigger button on the phaser (heavy stun of course) and you will have some free time to rest and relax. Of course, they may need multiple sessions to get the point across to them.

Sounds like it might come in handy against TSA employees.

I'm afraid if I had a holosuite and a food replicator, I'd set up autopay on my bills, go in there, and never be seen again.

HA!...which is preCISely why I did not choose a Holodeck...I would succumb to holodiction in about 3.2 femto-seconds...and I truly would go where no man has gone before...

There is applications that the phaser could do that's being missed in this thread but with one you could survive in a lot of situations. Figure you're in the woods. You could chop down trees for shelter, hunt, and defend yourself. It'll be the god of Swiss Army knifes.

...do not know why, but I am picturing the primates from "2001" dancing and ululating while holding a phaser found in their territory (left by some version of some timeline thing, no matter) and then having it accidentally go off...GOTta cut down on the Romulan Ale
