Nice. And a super-villain in the background, I see.

I don't think the new suit looks either less or more ridiculous than Christopher Reeve's suit. Both are really equally ridiculous-looking. Also, there's nothing intrinsically objectionable about the new suit. It's equally as arbitrary to any of the older suits going back to the original.

As has been essentially pointed out upthread, if purism were the highest ideal, we must never have allowed Superman's appearance to depart from that in Action Comics #1.

I'm much happier with the new suit than the one in Superman Returns. It can only be Superman's, and the character in that picture can only be Superman.

Is that picture a manip or not? Can people please say when they are posting manips and/or where their images come from? Thanks. (ETA: I see you did that, Space Therapist. Thanks.)

Yes it's a manip, from one of the spy pics. It's a very good one though.

"Junk" is a common, and acceptable, slang term for a man's genitals, his package, his batch, his meat and two veg, his ball and tackle, his ladymaker, his cloaks and dagger and whatever other term you want to use.

    Very cool.

There's nothing "muted" or "grim" about that outfit. It's just a colder and less intense blue than most versions of the suit.

In other words, they wanted him to stand out.

Again, that explains why the suit has to be made of these specific materials, but not why it's designed like that.

I hope you're not accusing me of that, because I think I made it clear in my posts that I was merely giving my personal opinion and not stating facts.

The part of my quote - which you've obviously overlooked - is bold now. I never said it was a requirement for the colors of the costume to be bold and bright in order to make the character inspiring.

You are right, I did brighten the colors up a bit. I wasn't actually trying to give an accurate sample of the official colors, I merely wanted to compare two versions, bright and bold with muted, and let everyone see for themselves which of these look more inspiring. If I was misleading, it was not on purpose, I assure you.

    Hello, new av!

I get it. It's his super-motorcross suit! All he needs is a helmet.

How do ya like my concept art for the new Green Lantern suit? Should be right popular.

^ Now that's awesome :) All this talk about Clark's suit everyone has been ignoring Faora. I think her costume is great.

Just as an aside I find it interesting to see very similar looking actors in mo-cap suits in this new pic when we've seen them in The Avengers shoot so recently.

    Those mo-cap guys get around.

We've seen shots of Michael Shannon in slow mo cap suits as well last month. Everyone's been distracted nitpicking the suit rather than discussing the more interesting things going on during the shoot.

I was going to make a thread about the use of mo-cap suits in movies nowadays. I was whether people were yay or nay about them.

Dunno what that is, but I have a right sharp mohair suit.
