@Gov Kodos Yeah it was a good show...bizarre audience though. LOL. Young goth types and their parents. :D Two things I remember are a couple having sex near us and a preppy girl jumping the area between the lawn and seated area...when me and my friend tried they stopped us...they didn't stop her. LOL.

One of the greatest guitar players to ever walk the earth...one video just doesn't do him justice. Here's 30 minutes of pure awesome.

As someone who was born in 1978, sheena easton's video for her song ,telephone, was the first ever music video i remember watching.

To millions in the UK, these two songs became synonymous with a certain music television programme during the 80s:

I was just reminded of how one fellow in high school thought that my teenaged self resembled Thomas Dolby, such that I'd regularly be greeted from across a crowded corridor by him shouting "SCIENCE!"

Unfortunately, the original video doesn't seem to be available on YouTube, so screw it. :p

I love 'em but it was never the same after Ricky died. D. Boon died in '85, too.

When I first saw these guys I had never seen an acoustic bass guitar. There were electric basses and stand-up basses, but this was something new. I thought it was about the coolest thing I'd ever seen, and was crazy about the sound. I wore their first record out. By the time I got to see them a few years later, they had dropped the acoustic thing and were playing songs about Jesus.

    ^That worked, thanks!

Funny thing about the resemblance...I didn't see it then, but I do now (compared to how I looked at the time).

Here's a few favorites of mine from the early 80s:

    Toto - Rosanna

    [yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qmOLtTGvsbM[/yt]

And from Duran Duran - Rio

    [yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e3W6yf6c-FA[/yt]

Adam Ant - Goody Two Shoes

    [yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o41A91X5pns[/yt]

Here's an MTV classic: Wall of Voodoo - Mexican Radio

Love the 80s. What an eclectic decade for music.

Because, in the 80s, it was possible to put more than one song in a single video narrative.

    A couple of Trek-related entries....

I'm sure we're all familiar with this classic spoof:

    [yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FCARADb9asE[/yt]

(I also wanted to include "The Trouble with Klingons", but all I could find was a brief excerpt advertising Dr. Demento's website.)

And then there's this non-spoof with some Trek in it that I remember hearing in the late 80s:

And I just remembered this one....Hope the mods won't mind two posts in a row, considering the aforementioned difficulties involved in editing posts with embedded YouTube videos....
