Just curious - where you live, do you: Own/pay a mortgage Own outright Rent Live payment free Me, option one.
Option 3 - I rent, and it isn't cheap. I hope someday to be option 1, and and some day beyond that, option 2.
I rent. I wish to God I made enough money to afford a down payment on a house, though. I hate throwing $ away on rent.
Option 4. I'm live with my gran and I'm kinda jobless. Believe it or not I actualy have my own house already. It's mine when I turn 21.
Combo for me. Technically the mortgage is in my husband's name and he takes care of the bills, so he's the actual owner of the house.
With parents, so I don't have to pay anything. Probably renting next year or the year after that though depending on whether I find a job, whether I do the whole education thing, whether I can afford it and whether I find a place. If I'm still living with my parents when I'm over 21, I'll kill myself.
Rent. We're pretty lucky as it's relatively cheap. £550pcm for a large three bedroom flat. It would be nice to buy eventually though.
Option 3 - special case. We can afford to buy, but are living here temporarily for my wife's job, so renting for mobility purposes. We've gotten basically all the nice furniture we wanted to furnish a house, and have been saving for a down payment, so I don't mind too much.
I have two residences. One is being bought on contract, with anticipation of getting a mortgage next year. The other, where I live, is a rental. I could never afford a house in Jersey.
