yeah, this is why i loved akira and defiant, but crypitc in all their creepy wisdom made it such that you really have tp upgrade as you progress, and options at the top are good, but not what i want, i went with another heavy escort this time (bought a new ship) looks like akira but looks strange (ugly is the word) with deflector thing right on its nose, looks disgusting if you ask me. Buying refit defiant is my alternative, right now i am close to vice admiral, but you need 500 of something was it merit? have no clue, but you need 500 of these to get defiant.

My current sip is so underarmed its ridiculous, a bridpray can take me out in a nanosecond.

need better weapons, ( have no tactical consoles t speak off) and no decent weapons, my weapons on defiant are all class 8, and on sovereign weren't much better. guys suggestions, id welcome any good suggestion. (btw i'v been playing this game only for 2 weeks so i am relative newb).

That's a mandate from CBS; they don't want the older, weaker, non-protagonist ships to be more powerful than the protagonist ships from the various series.

The only exception they've been willing to make is the Excelsior, and that only because onscreen it was clearly continually refit and heavily used in front-line service.

...how'd you get to RA in two weeks without acquiring loot and/or money? With Captain level weapons and no consoles, and an empty boff slot, it's no surprise you're ailing; but how'd you GET to RA like that?

Don't worry about the Defiant Retrofit. You can use your last promotion ship token for it. No need to grind emblems for rbe first retrofit ship.

Though once your account has been active for 500 days you get 250 emblems free.

Annoyed that there's no trade-in value on these things. I went with the Galaxy refit (not the galaxy-X) when offered that choice, as I had played cruisers straight through to that point. I later bought the Galaxy-X, and now the other one is fairly useless, and I'd rather have something else, but don't want to spend a couple months doing nothing but grinding to try and get enough points for it...

hard work i tell you, I have salvaged consoles from my other ships, I totally forgot i had them, I just forgot to transfered them to my new ship. And most of my stuff is rare or very rare, I tend to ignore the rest, this is why I had problem finding consoles and I am not in a habit to waste credits at the exchange.

These we salvaged from Defiant and Sov, otherwise...

Looking at your screenshot, I just noticed something that I have to wonder if it's connected to your BOff issue, mic. Why do you still have "Promotion Lieutenant Commander" on your list of missions? In addition to that BOff issue, you should have more Inventory spaces too. Do you have any other pending promotions that you never completed?

That must be the optional ceremony. How else would he fly around in a T5 escort? ;)

Unless... Is it possible to levell to Lieutenant 21 (not being promoted to Lieutenant Commander) and skipping the rank by going directly to Commander? That could indeed frak up such things, I imagine.

I recall an individual who levelled to "Ensign 51", and talked about how gimped the character was by skipping the promotion missions. Maybe you're right, he skipped one or more and frakked things up. Perhaps doing them will fix it; if not, he'll need to open a ticket.

i went through ranks, just never bothered to show up for a ceremony, and never got my free ship ticket, had to buy all my ships. (and i did lt commander ceremony thing when I was captain thinking I might be able to get free ship than), nope. I've done Captain ceremony too at the same time.

Timelord_Victorious: If it was the optional ceremony, the assignment entry in the log would start with the word "Attend." The assignments for speaking with Quinn start simply with "Promotion," like the one in mic's screenshot. For an example of the way the optional ceremony looks in the log, see his linked screenshot in this post.

mic: You didn't have to buy all your ships, if you actually followed the assignment directions and went to Admiral Quinn. Quinn gives you a new ship token at each rank (except, of course, RAUH); he also gives you more bank and inventory slots, and so on. Those assignments shouldn't be treated as "optional" - what's optional is the ceremony with Commander Menn Hilo in the Stateroom.

Based on your number of BOffs and inventory slots, I don't think you've ever actually ranked up past Commander; you've only leveled up, which gave you access to higher tier ships / etc. but didn't give you additional BOffs, inventory slots, ship requisition tokens, etc. (The only reason I can even specify "Commander" right now is because your linked screenshot in the previous post I just pointed above is the only screenshot you've posted in which your rank can be seen; every other screenshot has been of your ship, not of your character.)

I suggest you complete every Promotion assignment that is included in your log (that is, go talk to Admiral Quinn in Earth Spacedock - when you exit the transporter room, head right then immediately left til you see a woman at a desk; go past her through the set of doors). If that still doesn't fix things, then definitely open a ticket; however, I suspect that will be enough to rectify the situation.

actually you just have to spend skill points to get to the next rank, the prom, otion mission just gives you xp, merits, and a token to get your new ship for free.

Ah, yes, you're right. Still, it probably would be worth the couple minutes or so it would take for mic to complete those promotion assignments, and see if anything shakes out correctly afterwards.

If it does, he has the very cool experience of getting a free ship token for every tier at once... even for RAUH. You can actually pick another one at that rank.
Since it counts as a full promotion.

On an entirely unrelated note - the Borg Command Ship is epic. I shall not post images, as it would spoil the surprise...

The interaction message is quite nice, though - looks like an actual Red Alert indicator:

True and now that I think about it I don't think my bank slots on my Klik alt. increase until AFTER I took the promotion mission. So this could be the problem for mic.
