Hey! I haven't posted, or indeed drawn, any Star Trek fan art in a long while, and I'd really appreciate some comments from you guys. It doubles as Star Wars fan art, which means I will only bother you once. :rommie:

Fun! I really love the background buildings.

Some nits to pick, though, mainly with Han Solo... Off the top of my head, his gun and his pants are wrong. His blaster had a scope and a silver cone on the muzzle end, and his pants had a yellow stripe down the seam, not unlike an old-timey cavalry officer.

    Elsewise, I enjoyed this!

Actually, his navy blue pants had a red stripe and he wore knee high boots. The gun comment is right on though, there was a conical silver tip. However, I do think the scope is there but at a difficult angle to see. Regardless.. still funny.

You're absolutely right, and quite attentive to details. I had completely forgotten about the pants. Now when it comes to guns, I have to admit that I'm not very good at that, and I'm just trying to draw things which look like you could somehow hold them. I'll be the first to admit that I should try harder. :D[/QUOTE]

Yes, my intention was to draw the scope. I thought about the scope. I can't really draw a scope, but there's a scope-shaped blob somewhere there.

Thank you both for taking the time to comment, I really appreciate it.

I'd also add that Solo's hair looks a little too curly. In fact, darken the skin and add a mustache and he would look like Lando from the end of Empire. But still a very fun image!

Any particular reason why their names are reversed from their position in the image?

Overall though, nicely drawn, and I like the shading! :techman:

Why did I see "Kirk and Sulu" at first glance?

And I agree, really cool looking artwork.

There are some aspects of this image which are deliberate homages to 1970's manga, which sometimes lead me off-model. It's not meant to be a literal representation of those characters. ;)

Yes, it's what Hollywood always does on movie posters.

    Thank you, everyone! :)

His pants were blue with red stripes in New Hope, and black with yellow stripes in Empire and Jedi, IIRC.

    HA! Justification!

Now that I'm looking at pics on Google Image... I think the ESB/ROTJ pants which clearly have the yellow stripe, might actually be a dark brown rather than black. Maybe one film used black and the other brown? Maybe it's a lighting thing?
