A ..... Wall-E Does anyone here live near those 100 bargain theaters that The Midnight Meat Train was dumped in by Lionsgate?

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Figures its some technicality like that. I'm consolidating mine then. Seems I've seen an even dozen films this summer, with a few more to go. Got passes to Death Race next week and Tropic Thunder and Pineapple Express are both possible. I'm not using my passes for Beer For My Horses however even my time is worth something in an instance like that. Iron Man: A Prince Caspian: B- Indiana Jones: B+ The Incredible Hulk: B+ Get Smart: B Wanted: C Wall*E: B Journey to Center of Earth: B+ Hellboy 2:The Golden Army: A- The Dark Knight: A+ Mummy Tomb of the Dragon Emperor: B- (see my review thread in SF&F) X-Files:I Want to Believe: C
I've got passes to Tropic Thunder which I'll likely use and likely see the movie again the following weekend with my roomate. Death Race looks like good, dumb, thumb so I may end up seeing that one too. I think that'll end the season for me. EDIT - Beer for My Horses? I dunnot. If I can get passes to it I'll likely go. Otherwise I might catch it on cable in a few years. I love the song -one of my favorites- and Ted Nugent is drawing me in like a black-hole, but in the end... The movie doesn't fill me with promise. Maybe a boring afternoon $5 matinee.
Ironman: B+ Get Smart: B Indy IV: C Wanted: C Hancock: B X-Files: D+ TDK: A- Wall-E: B+ Mummy 3: C- Death Race: ? I am looking forward to Death Race. Jason Statham kicking ass again. Joan Allen this time playing an evil bitch.
So, I've now seen Wall-E and The Dark Knight. They were rather good. Yes, I enjoy understatement, and think that both of these films were very entertaining. Kudos to all involved.
Staying within the confines of summer movies(ie the thread title) how about Babylon A.D. on 8/29/08, that looks like a good no thought action flick that might be fun. I've been warming up to it but still on the fence myself.
It's been a pretty good summer for me movie wise. Indy- A+ Dark Knight- A+ Hancock- A Step Brothers- B If RA work doesn't come up, hoping to see X-Files this weekend.
Finally able to check out more movies these past couple of weeks. The Dark Knight: A The Mummy - Tomb of the Dragon Emperor: B- Hellboy II - The Golden Army: A- The X-Files - I Want To Believe: B+ Hancock: B Well, I am disappointed that I was not able to find the time to see Get Smart in theaters but will rent it as soon as it comes out. And, I think that I will not be able to see The Pineapple Express in theaters as well. I will probably be going to the theater with some of my wife's family to see Star Wars: The Clone Wars this weekend. Then, I think my summer movie season will be complete.
PK95 SW:Clone Wars opens next Friday August 15. Now I know your in Centerville and it may not be worth the drive(gas costs and all) but NashvilleScene.com has open registration for free advance screener passes to Clone Wars early next week. Just an FYI. It may be cheaper to see at the Dixon cinema than make the drive but wanted to give you a heads up.
I don't remember what my previous ratings were and I'm too lazy to look. The Dark Knight - A+ Iron Man - A Wall-E - B+ Indiana Jones 4 - B+ Get Smart - B The X-Files 2 - C+
Yeah, I knew that Clone Wars came out then. I am off work for a few days and the days get jumbled together since I do not have to spend all of my time by my cell phone since I am not on call. I spent Tuesday night and Wednesday catching up on movies in theaters which makes it more confusing and it feels like Sunday now. Anyway, I have registered for Nashville Scene. Thanks for the head up! Centerville is not that far from Nashville and the Roxy in Dickson is not the best theater to go to. I was in Franklin at the Thoroughbred these past couple of days anyway. Sometimes it is worth the drive to see the movies on a better screen depending on time.
^^^ Yeah, I've only seen two films at the Roxy and it wasn't anything to write home about. My sound system at home is better I think. I have a friend in Dixon with kids so I go to him at times to hang out. I have relatives in Centerville out by the button manufacturing plant(I think its buttons). Glad you registered maybe I'll see you there! If we both get passes that is.
