Thanks. Truth be told, despite my relative ignorance in such matters, over the years I have noticed a few parents demonstrate an interest of one kind or another. It's incredibly flattering. But acknowledging it (much less acting on it) is one of those lines I'd never cross.
The Fonz and Yertle the Turtle on the same page of this thread? That, kind sir, should earn you a major Interwebs prize.
Oh Happy Days! Seriously, don't be too quick to praise. Beyond vomit-inducing puns ... I got nothin' else.
Didn't Henry Winkler write a children's book? I know from Kevin Pollak's Chat Show that he is dyslexic. He seems an interesting individual.
Henry Winkler tours schools over here promoting an organisation called First News, a newspaper for children, that aims to get kids involved in reading and writing. He heads their My Way campaign as well, that is specifically aimed at kids with learning difficulties. He got an honourary OBE for it. He seems like a really nice guy.
He's written several, with co-author Lin Oliver. The first series is called Hank Zipzer about a dyslexic boy, which is based on Winkler's own experiences. His newer series, also with Lin Oliver, is called Ghost Buddy, about a kid who ends up befriending a wacky kid-ghost. I facilitated a book signing with both authors and Winkler was very candid - and very funny - about his dyslexia. A real nice guy in person ... and he's got comedic timing down to an art form.
So last night was the Easter Vigil at church. I always get all dressed up for that. It's a rare instance where I feel like my self-esteem issues take a hike.
^Nice. We were walking through Central Park today and noticed a lot of blooming flowers. And before our walk we had a little tea party.
Gorgeous shot ... doesn't hurt that you've got an adorable subject! As a photog enthusiast in NYC, I'm sure you're familiar with Adorama on 18th St. ... Books of Wonder is on the same block, maybe five stores down from it, as you're heading toward 5th Ave.
We got to see our first deer in our woods. It came out and staired at us until it was spooked by some birds.
In an attempt to get people to come down to my bar today (not an easy thing to do on Easter Sunday), I took this picture of my only two customers and put it on our company's Facebook page.
Deer are beautiful creatures. But just wait until they decide to play demolition derby with your car. I've only narrowly avoided a few of those instances myself - including one incident on a snow-covered road that, thankfully, was a two-lane highway (meaning I came to a stop on the shoulder, instead of against a tree).
Actually, cooleddie74 and Samual Walters, my eyes are blue. They just take on the hues of whatever's around them! Thanks This photo shows more of their true color. It's a couple years old. I got my ears pierced at the end of 2010, so this is probably from 2005 or so.
