I'll actually go for Relics next. Geordi just comes off as such a punk in this one.

^ Yeah, LaForge was shitty acting. Hard to vote against an ep with a classic Trek character.

I'll go with Relics too. I enjoy the episode despite La Forge's major jerk qualities. I wish it had been a different character who rubbed Scotty the wrong way as it goes against Geordi's character. I think it's an interesting look at how you can feel when you're getting older and start to feel useless, and have trouble fitting into the modern world. Plus it's amazing to see Scotty with the TNG crew.

I do think the rest of the episodes are stronger though so it gets my vote.

Darmok, because I had to choose something so might as well be consistent.

Well I might as well put the last nail in Relics; I don't see a need to drag this elimination round out. Geordie was an ass in the episode.

Now we separate the men from the bigger men. Although, I'm pretty certain what the final 3 will be.

This round I'll vote for Darmok, because it's slightly less excellent than the others.

This really is getting hard but I have a final five in my head so I'll just keep voting away.

I love Darmok, but it's time for it to go. How can they teach children what their metaphors mean? For that matter, how can they say "shields are down to 35%!"?

Voting for "Measure". A little too much bombastic speechifying by Picard, and Riker seemed to enjoy prosecuting Data more than he should.

Another vote for "Darmok" and it's out, as I said before interesting but too little point/resolution after a lot of build-up. New round.

After much thought, I'm gunning for The Defector. If a Romulan episode was going to make it to the final I wish it had been The Enemy, even though I do love The Defector. The surprise reveal at the end of the Birds of prey was awesome, but Worf vs. the injured Romulan, and Geordi on the planet working with Bochra was more memorable.

Bit of a flimsy excuse but there you go.

My vote is for Cause and Effect. Like the already-gone Parallels, it's a great episode but at the end of the day it's still just a high-concept crowd-pleaser. It doesn't have the depth or character work that almost everything else on the list has.

The Defector. Somewhere in Starfleet's vast database should be at least one picture of the Romulan Admiral for them to compare the defector.

The Defector is gone for no better reason than it's my least favourite of a very, very strong list.

Okay, I think Family should go this time. It was an excellent follow-up to BOBW for Picard, and it was also fun to see other family stories. I just like the others more.

Another vote for Family, a strong character study episode, but the others tell better stories.

Solid episodes, but Family is the weakest link. They follow a tour de force scene by Patrick Stewart with a mopey scene of Wesley watching a recording of his dad. Sigh, I guess it had to go somewhere.
