What I meant is the movie The Dark Knight with the opening of the 1960's TV show, as shown here: [yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x8UiJmCN_K4&feature=player_embedded[/yt]
I'd love to hear that the warehouse containing the only copies of the 1960s batman tv series had burned to the ground...
I'd love it if somebody had the guts and imagination to produce a new series in that style, and if the audience had the humor and maturity to appreciate it.
That's outstanding. It makes me want to go watch the 1989 Batman trailer put to the audio from TDK again.
Count me in. Of course, with today's sensibilities, anybody trying would most likely just screw it up.
They already have: it's on each week on Cartoon Network. Why? We've already had it; all that's needed is to put it on video. Nothing more.
Wow, by far one of the best Youtube videos I've ever seen. The attention to detail is incredible. Not just how perfectly the design of the 60s opening titles was re-created, but all the background characters. It took me a few viewings to realize that Maroni, Falcone, Ra's Al Ghul/Ducard, The Chechen, Gambol, Lau, and The Joker's gang of robbers are all there! I love the way The Joker and The Scarecrow look too.
I love Brave And The Bold. I didn't realize it was back on. I'll look for it. But what I think would be really cool would be a live-action show that visually emulates the old Batman series, but not written in a campy style; rather, more in the style of Busiek, Englehart, Thomas et al. I think that would rock.
I don't think Brave and the Bold is back yet. Could you emulate the visual style of the old series and NOT be campy? I'm trying to picture that....
Just by doing it. Just imagine an issue of Avengers by Englehart and Perez brought straight to live action without any mainstreaming. The old Green Hornet almost did it, but that character is more straight crime drama, without the colorful opponents or fantastic storylines. Pushing Daisies was also along the lines of what I'd like to see; it was a great mix of humor and drama and psychedelia (they even used Claymation a couple of times). I'll see if I can find out when Brave And The Bold will be back.
