Our Current Mission, Rogue Element: A Cardassian by the name of Suntak has amassed a small fleet of outlaws mercenaries and bandits in the Iconnu region in recent months and has begun to attack freighters and other small craft raiding them of cargo and any technology they can grab. He was kept on the radar but not considered a threat until today. Suntak and a small fleet of ships ranging from shuttles to frigates stolen from various races and acquired through other means attacked the USS Montana, an intrepid class starship, crippling her before she could get a distress signal out. This gave them the opportunity to raid her cargo bays and weapon stores. Luckily casualties were light but the raiding party made off with all of the ships cargo and weapons including phaser banks, quantum torpedoes, and photon torpedoes. Suntak cannot be allowed to use these weapons or sell them off as this will result in a massive breach of technological security for the Federation. The Vanguard is tasked with hunting down Suntak and his band of misfits and bringing them to justice by any means necessary. The balance of the region rests on the success of this mission. Our Mission Progress so far: The Vanguard arrived in the area and immediately began its search for Suntak and his people. A small Ferengi freighter was found attacked and stripped of its cargo. A shuttle was fitted with a false signature to give the impression of a weak transport luring an enemy ship in where the Vanguard ambushed it and captured the ship taking the crew captive. Meanwhile the Vanguard has followed a lead allowing them to capture the illusive Ferengi bandit Vetran. After a failed suicide attempt Vetran , making a full recovery, has been interrogated by Vladimir and the Intelligence Officer Lieutenant Klein. Through their efforts of utilizing false threats Vetran has revealed the location of a base where Suntak may be hiding.
