yeah. not sure if you guys have been reading Cap or not, but the super soldier serum was recently drained from his body. people are speculating, mostly due to an Avengers cover, that Falcon will take over as Captain America.

I'm guessing he's referring to Hickman's Avengers...and the "8 Months Later* arc that leads into next year's "Time Runs Out".

    1. In the early nineties, Steve was caught in the edge of an exploding drug lab. The designer drug attached to the Supersoldier Serum and they eventually had to drain him of all his blood and replace it with regular blood from the blood bank, and he was bogstandard human for a couple months until the formula began to regenerate... yup. Been there. Done that. It doesn't last.

    2. In 1986, after Cap Quit because he would not follow orders from the Commission on Superhuman Activities, there was an entire issue where they went through names and polaroids of the contenders... Sam's name came up as a possible replacement, and I think the quote was something like "It's 1986, but I don't think that the American people are ready for a black Captain America." ...And remember relativity, when whoever said that (it was probably Henry Peter Gyrich) they thought that 1986 was like living in the distant Future compared to the racist backward hell they grew up in.

Apparently Remender's run is tying into what Hickman has been building for the past two years. Bleeding Cool did an excellent article showcasing this recently, I'll have to dig it up at some point.

The 8 Months Later thing seems to be Marvel's attempt to do what DC did with "Batman #28" and preview "publication". Brevoort stated that we'll be looking into the future of what they are planning next year. So it should be interesting.

That's because the Zeitgeist's belief in Wonder Woman is about a million times stronger than any piece of fiction, written or TV than she ever been in should have generated.

Wonder Woman does not deserve her reputation, but it's not going to go away either.

I keep giving her the opportunity to win me over, but it's just be long stream of fail since John Byrne's Darkseid mashed the Amazons, leaving a Paradise Island sized bloody stain for Diana to get weepy about.

    That was 25 years ago.

    But that's really telling.

Her book hasn't been good since it was writen by a woman hating mysoginist.

The link I did not follow was abbreviated.

All I could see was ".r-woman-comic/" and instinct took over.

    Oh.

    Spider-Woman.

    My bad.

Jessica hasn't been good since she was a powerless private Detective in mandripor doing odd Jobs with Wolverine...

    No, I'm being bitter.

    Sad, old and bitter.

Finding that she was a Skrull Princess was fun, and dating Hawkeye is the sort of kick in the nuts that only Jessica Drew's life could source.

Bendis's Agent of S.W.O.R.D. series, regular and motion comic were outstanding, and I used to love her guest appearances in Alias.

Although what the frack happened to Mockingbird?

Cool Character that just got dosed with the Super soldier formula, and then woosh! Gone!

I wonder if Kate, the other Hawkeye, has inherited Barton's great luck with picking explosively doomed relationships?

I loved the cartoon as a kid in the 80s.

(I wondered why she wasn't on the Electric Company too?)

But upon trying to watch the pilot last month... Awful.

A humourless version of Scooby Doo.

Re: Marvel Now/ReEvolution Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

I'm not sure if I wanted Bobbie more in the West Coast Avengers because she was a bubbling newly wed so that I could hijack her happiness, or later when she was a bitter divorcee and I didn't have to worry about making her happy at all because she ate spite and shat resentment.

Honestly though, if you are lost in time, a hundred years before you were married. it's not cheating, and Hawkeye should have given her a pass on that whole Ghostrider thing.

Bendis' "Spider-Woman" was quite good IMO. I'd have been fine if Bendis returned to write Jessica...but oh well. I guess we'll probably find out at the end of the month who exactly is the creative team.
