Here's a rare sight - my trio playing nicely together!

When the tornadoes hit last week, my two oldest were with their granddaddy downtown, and had to take shelter in the visitor's center. My son got to take this home for his trouble!

Ah, playing nicely on a warm, spring day.

    They're planning something. :shifty:

    Uh! Lucky!

I just wanted to show off this new bit added to my collection:[IMG]

I'm a pretty die hard Harry Potter fan, if you couldn't tell.

I've mentioned it once or twice, but I decided to start making chainmail professionally. Here's a bracelet I made.

It looks kind of girly on me, but it goes with the bikini I'm making for JuanBolio's girlfriend, and I don't think the girliness will be a problem for her.

I'd post a picture of my progress so far on the bikini, but the design is top-secret until I finish the top, so it'll have to wait. Still, I've definitely gained a few skill points in Craft (Pointless Armor) since my first chainmail project.

And yes, I make the rings myself. This is what it starts out as:

I love this wire. It has the appearance of stainless steel, but it's mostly aluminum so it's lightweight, and it's fairly cheap. I am using it in all future projects unless the customer wants functional armor or specifies a different metal.

I was at a Board of Directors meeting last weekend for the organization that oversees Polaris and the Constellation Awards. The meeting was in a restaurant, and our President decided she was going to take a picture of me enjoying my dessert - Deep-fried bananas, with coconut ice cream.

That face, and that you have bananas in your mouth makes it really too easy sometimes. :p

Don't make me have to dig out the photo KRAD took (I think) from our meetup in 2006, in which I'm deep-throating a dill pickle. :p

I'm not finding it right now - it must be on the other computer. (Odd that I never put it in an album on Photobucket.) I'll have to look for it tomorrow.

I'm pretty sure I have a copy somewhere, anyway - I seem to recall posting it in a previous picture thread, shortly after the meetup.

OMG...WANT! The figurines are awesome, of course, but I'm especially eyeing the wands. They're stunning.

I'm a big HP fan as well, in case it doesn't show. ;) In fact, my first foray into online fandom was with a Harry Potter for Grownups group. Ten years later I'm still friends with a lot of the other old List Elves (as the assistant mods were called). I have some HP Lego, but have yet to treat myself to a wand. May I ask where you purchased yours?

Yeah, I think they were carrots. I didn't actually touch them at all - it seemed a little odd to have carrots with dessert, when I wasn't having carrot cake.

And you're right, KJbushway, they do look like egg rolls. It took me about an hour to figure out what the heck I'd been eating so that I could decribe the picture. It wasn't until I remembered the coconut ice cream that I remembered about the bananas.

^ Whenever I've had them before, they've been sliced and then deep fried. And covered in chocolate sauce. Which, overall, tends to reduce the resemblance to egg rolls a bit.
