The movie looks great. I love the animation. Hopefully, Pixar can return to greatness after the disappointing cash in, Cars 2.

Wikipedia confirms the impression I got from the trailer, that this will be "darker and more mature" than the usual Pixar fare. Good that they're still willing to stretch themselves. And I like it that most of the cast is Scottish and the rest at least English (although of course John Ratzenberger will be in it too, at least according to Wiki). Apparently this is the first Pixar film to feature a female lead character, which is long overdue.

"Best guess for Brave Release Date is June 22, 2012"? According to a Google search.

This bumped out Monster Inc 2 so it'd better be good. :)

Isn't Kelly MacDonald the one that got her kit off in Trainspotting?

I'm just wondering how they're going to fit the Pizza Planet truck into a Scottish historical epic...

The title and cast look like a considered attempt to lance the chronic suppurating sore that was Bravefart. Emma Thompson's Mum is Scottish so she has a reasonably authentic accent. Almost makes Scotland look as though it's punching above its weight, thespian-wise, considering it's such a small nation.

Edit: proof of ET's accent with Robbie Coltrane (Lord Dingwall in Brave) 25 years ago or so. They've been friends ever since Tutti Frutti was made.

I wish they were keeping the film's original title, The Bear and the Bow. It just sounds more visual and exciting to me. Do you suppose that marketing research told Pixar or Disney that a one-word title like Brave would be an easier sell?

Eh...the trailer really didn't do anything for me. But Craig Ferguson is in it, so I'm willing to give it a try.

Your probably right, but a film called "The Bear and the Bow" coming from Disney/Pixar connotes a seemingly much "nicer" film where animals sing, fairies exist and the downtrodden princess gets her wish.

I think "Brave" is a much more suiting title given the tone that was displayed in that trailer. If Pixar really are moving beyond the mold, having dumb parents go see a movie about a bear and bow and then complaining about it when its actually about a red haired Scottish lass shooting an arrow in a giant killer bear's body (presumably) would not be good for PR.

Really? Bears and bows connote danger and violence to me, while the title "Brave" just sounds sort of bland. Oh well.

Or how good can John Ratzenberger do a Scottish accent.

Then again Ratatouille (which to me was the biggest flop) was set in France and pretty much everyone had an American accent, so...
