The annual marathon in Delta's capital city. The orgies afterward make even Risa pale in comparison.

Orion. Super hot, scantily clad, sexually charged green women. How is that not the best thing Trek ever did?

    They aren't races. They're species.

We're collectively known as the human race. It's colloquial. They often refer to one another's species as races

Bajorans and Klingons were best executed in my opinion, I prefer the Bajorans because I'm not a fan of warrior cultures. Plus I love their ancient and recent history, the Bajoran sun sailors, the wandering prophets, the occupation, the slow healing. Marvellous!

Design wise I like the Andorians from Enterprise the best. I wish it had continued just for those guys, with the introduction of the Aenar the Andorians were well on their way to become just as well developed as the Bajorans and Klingons.

Concept wise I am a huge fan of the Ocampa and the Betazoids and wish the writers would have been more creative with them, really exploring the concept of psionic races.

Best is subjective. The best fighters would be Klingon (bat'leth beats Borg adapting shields) but the best merchant would have to be the Ferengi.

I came across this issue when making a toughest species thread.

The best race is for the repli-toilets on burrito night in Ten-Forward.

    is this sarcasm?

I'm genuinely curious, because I thought the Baku came off as smug space hippies, with almost nothing to make them interesting, and I found their culture and philosophy to be utterly phony. Then add to that the lazy look created for them where they just look like Humans. The Son'a had a far more interesting story.

El Aurian. Any race which considers listening a most valuable trait is up there in my list.

Like Sisko, I could imagine living in a log cabin on Bajor, too.

How can you have a "best race"? It's a meaningless question.

    ...But the swelling's gone down...

I think most races we've seen all have their own unique benefits and interesting bits.

Although I'm firmly convinced that the "worst" race we've ever seen has to be the Pakleds.

I could go with this, yes. :)

Nice planet (at least, after they fixed it up post-occupation), but I find most Vedeks to be quite pompously sanctimonious and a little too wrapped up in their back-stabbing politics to make living there tolerable. Really, Vedek Bareil was the only one of them that seemed to be worth a shit.

There are no good and bad species, just as there are no good and bad races. Have you learned nothing from Star Trek? :)

I was always partial to Jem'Hadar. Pretty fascinating and frightening alien species.

The Q. God-like powers and immortal. If I were to be something other than human, I'd want to be a real bad-azz.

    It's a floor polish ... no it's a desert topping.
