Star Trek 6

Hi All,

AM looking to finally buy ST6 on dvd in the UK/Region 2.

Please could someone advise me which version to buy as I want to have the scenes with Colonel West/scooby do ending included, rather than the version where they're cut.

I Have the Region 4 Special Edition 2-disc DVD - it has the scenes you mentioned.

(I'd rather it hadn't, but that's me -- and it was the only one available at the time)

 

I'm usallly one that likes extra scenes in movies, but in this case I think they hurt the movie rather than add to it.

None of the additonal material adds anything of substance to the film, and only serves to slow/break up the pace IMHO. Scotty's "that Klingon bitch" dialogue is just horrible. The theatrical is indeed the superior cut.

The TUC Blu-ray is the finest AV presentation of the movie currently available on home video, and has the virtue of being the only one with the theatrical version - in its original aspect ratio to boot!

 

Maybe the one extra scene I would keep in is the scene on Operation: Retrieve.

 

I agree that the theatrical cut is the superior version of the movie.
