Hello new fleetmates. For some reason, after I returned from a self-imposed exile of sorts, I didn't bother to check out the Gaming forum. Awesome to be with y'all.

I'm jonathan burke@chimera335 (Federation) and ryusei@chimera335 (Fed-allied Romulan.) I have a Klingon that I'll get going at some point. Timelord has already invited me, just wanted to say hi. :)

Subspace Com Array upgrade is underway. When done, we have access to Ground Elite Fleet Shields.

For the next 5 days feel free to get the regular projects for Mine/Embassy/Starbase going to get some leveling progress done.

In a week we start working on the minor starbase upgrades starting with the personal tailor, followed by doff contact, ship tailor and transwarp gate (not necessarily in this order).

We are not that far off from reaching Tier 2 upgrades for the embassy and with a bit of focused effort the T2 mine upgrades can be done within a few weeks, too.

I tried to, but i just get an error message "player not found".

Send me an in-game message when you are online today, so I can re-try.

    @Timelord_Victorious

Edit: on another note, I thought I'd address an issue I was wondering about for some time.
There are a few fleet members on the roster who are actually online regularly, but are not interacting with the fleet in any way. They don't react on the fleet channel or to private messages.

I would like to hand out a promotion or two to give the access to the fleet's perks, but I have no idea if they are happy not interacting or just don't know how to get in touch.

If you think this description matches you let us know, so you can become a part of the actual community.

Since you brought it up, I have a particularly stupid question. How does one join the fleet chat?

You get automatic access to the innate fleet channel just by joining the fleet.

most of the TrekBBS communication happens on a channel called TrekBBS Subspace Com .

    to join, do this:
Right click on any Chat Tab in the chat window to bring up the Chat Configuration Window. Click on the Channels Tab and enter the name of the channel you wish to join (or create) in the Join/Create window. Then click Join. Alternatively, you can type "/channel_join ChannelName" where ChannelName is the channel.
The maximum number of channels you may be subscribed to is twenty.

    Welcome back!

The House could definitely use more help KDF-side when you level your Klingon. :klingon: The fleet holdings are slower going with fewer members. We'll get there, though!

The Com Array is done and done.
That was the last major department update for Tier 3.

We now have an open spot for a fleet tailor. Everyone is invited to contribute to a nice little tailor shop in OPS so we can soon purchase the fleet exclusive Odyssey uniform.

    Upcoming projects after that are:

Transwarp Gate Tier 3: opening up TW destinations to all 3 Romulan Sectors via Starbase System (not including Tau Dewa, that is unlocked by Romulan Reputation).

Starbase Doff Contact: Enabling you to do ALL doffing on the starbase instead of going to the Academy all the time.

Starship Customization officer: Enabling you to change appearance of all your starships on the starbase instead of going to ESD or other major bases.

Let us know how you would prioritize those three project. Which is the most important to you?

Transwap Gate requires major resources and should only be done if more members chip in. 432,000 dilithium is really no longer doable by the usual couple players in a timely fashion but not that bad with help from all members.

The other holdings continue on their way to Tier 2, but it's slow going and could use some resource injections, too.
The embassy is not far off from unlocking the first T2 upgrade projects. it could be done within a week with more contributions, though I am taking it slow to stock up as much provisions as possible as long as they as cheap as they are during this tier.
So, less XP but it will pay-off later.

Now log in and enjoy the newly available Personal Elite Fleet Shields in ground combat.

Doff, gateway, customization, I think is my order. customization is the least important to me.

Flaw with this design remains that there's nothing you can do on the starbase that you can't do somewhere else just as fast/easy, and without the cost. Even if you have to go to the Academy, it's just a transwarp to earth, move a foot, then beam down. While you're there, can go to the Captain's Table and knock out almost everything else. Or half a dozen other places. DS9 is a TW away and easier to move around in than digging through the layers of the starbase. Would like to see the fleet uniforms get updated, though.

Just wish there was something more unique to do there, or maybe if multiple fleets shared an instance, but you could only access what was unlocked to your fleet? Something to put people there so it's not just me and NPCs...

Yeah, they should some fleet base exclusives, even if they are unlocks threw those dreaded 200k dilithium projects.

Like minigames: poker, tongo, 3D chess, special holodeck training missions to test out builds and stuff...

Apologies for being dense, but when I go to the tailor, I don't see the fleet uniform. Do you pick a style and color it, or how does that work? Thanks much.

go to advanced, should be a pulldown on the final screen (once you've set up the body of the character, in with the uniforms) for Fleet option

Sweet, shall we play with it a little and make a variant the new Fleet uniform?

    Way ahead of you:

    Here is my suggestion.
Keep in mind, we can't set it as the actual fleet uniform, since it is an unlock that will not be available to everyone by default.
But as a B Variant of the fleet uniform or an officer version, sure, why not.
All you need to do is equip the fleet uniform and then switch out the parts for the Odyssey uni at the tailor and it will automatically show up in the colors shown below.

And here is one of the Odyssey in standard Starfleet duty colors
