And while Kirk generally got away with instinctive, emotional decisions, Janeway's absolute biggest failures all came when she let her emotions get the better of her. I don't remember Kirk's two most senior officers being threatened with the brig

Actually, i'd say it's clearly a rhetorical question

If someone asked...."how is Dave sexy"?......most people would assume that the asker is simply letting us know that they do not think Dave is sexy

So in that respect, the OP isn't asking you to convince them, they're asking you to acquiesce
