Please access the fleet event schedule and "RSVP" the event to sign up for it. it will help me to estimate how big the task force will be and how many more ships we need to recruit from our allies.

Grande Imperial Fleet has set up a paralell event, so hopefully they will send a number of additional ships.
If possible we should get together 15 minutes earlier to discuss strategys and then go find an empty instance.

should be a starbase, in case anyone needs to change gear after we chat. Either the one in the Sierra system, or Spacedock are the closest two...

Ok, here is the pre-mission briefing.

I'm happy to announce that Grande imperial Fleet will join us and there is a good chance they bring up to 13 more ships, all VA level. So this should be a no PuG fight.

There is basically two strategies we will use.

The elegant, probably quicker and more honourable solution:

    1. Kiting. In order to get the fragments under control 2 cruisers will set their engines to a high power setting and spam fire at will to draw aggro while at the same time trailing warp plasma. Both abilities should come with two copys each.
The other cruisers and sci ships "hover" above and below the entity and focus fire all the time. Also debuffing the thing with sensor scan, gravity well, etc... any debuff goes.

Escorts job will be to turn the fragments which are still trailing the two kiting cruisers into sand with their powerful frontal attacks by flanking runs. Build for AoE, so use scatter volley for maximum effect.

The Harg'pengh torpedo is a good choice to damage the entity twice with one shot.

The most important advice is: DON'T PANIC!
There will be moments when a few fragments slip through and kill your ship, just return to your assigned job as quickly as possible and keep calm.

    Second strategy is more conservative:

    2. AoE spam frontal attack.
Everyone go into close formation 6-7km away from the entity (any closer and the fragments get you) and just fire everything you have. Here as well use any AoE as much as possible (Fire at Will, Scatter Volley, Gravity Well...).
We need to put up a literal firewall.
This strategy is plan B, which we will fall back on if the first one doesn't have the desired effect or if coordination proves to be ineffecient.

    Which brings me to:

    Voice communication!
GIF fleet won't even let anybody participate in this without vent access. While we are not that strict, I would appreciate if you download the ventrillo client, so you can hook up the chat. You don't need a mic and contribute actively, but it will be of great help if you use the chat to get a greater awareness of what's going on on the whole map.
If everyone is fighting alone despite 19 allies on the map we won't get anywhere...
Server access will be provided before the event if you have never joined the Grand Imperial vent server before.

Any further Questions should be mailed to me as soon as possible, regarding ship setup, weapons, etc...

    Good hunting.

So, how did it go? Something came up and I couldn't make it, so the CE remains unbeaten for me. Maybe another time...

We discovered something very interesting. At approcimately 3 hours the entity gets bored and leaves! lol
Meaning it resets, cause apparently there is a timer/cap built into the mission.
At one time we wore it down to about 20%.
Mist of the time the healing/ damage balance was holding steadily at 30%.
we got a full instance without PuGs but we were not well enough coordinated. Guess it just needs someone with the right strategy calling out specific commands and everyone following to the letter.

That's insane. And not fun, just an example of bad level design. If you have something at a LT level that 15 or so experienced people can't beat in 3 hours, using coordinated strategy...

Yeah, how about something easier? I still have the Khitomer Accord mission on my to do list for my Caitian before my next fast catching up science captain is due for some STF action.

    Out there. Thatta way.
It's not really a timer, but an overflow bug. It will reset if too many shards exist in the instance.

Glad I beat the CE before they level banded it. Used to be you'd have 30 people from commander to RA trying to kill the thing. Eventually got a group that was organized enough and killed it in 10 minutes.

Same here. Lex still needs the last Borg reward and now Foxton is quickly approaching Rear Admiral too.

Depending on when, i can probably help. Don't have a toon that's ready to do it yet, but can re-run it with the primary and try for some new loot...

I'm aiming for a fleet event this sunday. I know of at least two fleet members who have just newly completed Infected, so The Cure would be a good choice.
I expect a busy fleet weekend though cause it's season 4 lauch weekend.
With enough interest (Borg engagements are particularly interesting) we can get more then one team going.
Different teams can run different missions of course depending on where the demand lies.

Please give me some feedback on this and I set up events accordingly on the fleet schedule in game.

P.S.: Keep in mind, the missions have to be run with the new ground combat system and Borg will behave entirely different from now on. ;)

Not exactly Trek Gaming, but I ask here anyway.
Cryptic also is developing Champion's Online.
Anybody here playing CO as well?
I thought, maybe if enough of us are, we could extend the fleet a bit into the superhero universe and found a TrekBBS supergroup.
It is FTP and shares a customer account with Star Trek Online.
I canceled my Gold member subscription cause it's a bit boring to play solo, but with the same crowd it's bound to be lots of fun. :)
